Shady, shady, shady. Only hire these people if you love to be hit with surprise charges and then blamed for incurring those charges because you called them "through Google" (whatever that arbitrary nonsense means!). The person from EZ Flow came to assess a leak we had and told us we could repair it ourselves. That's fine. For this bit of advice, he then charged us $95 for a "service fee" (plus tax, so over $100), and literally said — no joke — that it's because we had called them "through Google" which apparently incurred this punishment? (HOW is anyone supposed to know this completely made-up "rule"??) It's not unheard of to charge a service fee, but a) not telling us ahead of time (so we had to pay with a credit card, which means tax is added, but if we'd used cash, it would've been $95 even — how could we have known to get cash if we didn't know in advance that we'd be charged this fee?), and then b) saying we wouldn't have been charged anything if we'd called them the right way (??) is complete and total BS. Also, by the way, we DIDN'T actually call them "through Google." My husband clicked on the phone number that's listed on the company's website, and reached them that way. Why are we being punished with a $100+ fine for doing that? It makes absolutely no sense. It's disrespectful and unfair at best, totally shady and unethical at worst. And during a pandemic when so many people are struggling, to take advantage of people like this? It's truly so shameful.
