I used Blesings Hardwood Flooring several years ago when I lived up north jersey. Had sanding and refinishing done and they also installed rose wood in my living room. It was a 100% outstanding job. Years later I now live in South jersey and I received quotes from 5 companies down here and they were all completely out of their mind. So I asked John at Blesings and he came down to the shore and gave me a price that I was able to conceive paying. Well the work he did on my floors and staircase just over a week ago make my house look so much more inviting. No mistakes went right up to the trim gave me choices to pick from in stains. The job only took 2 days and in between we walked on it a little with socks. Eveyone was pleasant who worked on the job. I recommend Blesings completely.

This is another great company that I know. I think they did a great job. A few days later, I felt I didn't like what I saw. They came back later and re-did the entire floor all over again at no extra charge. When they sand your floor, none of the waste goes into your house. It goes straight to their truck, which is really really cool. I did not have a spec of dust anywhere. Their price is very reasonable. I would use them again.

Need to negotiate with vendor about price and you need to make sure that all areas are done to your satisfaction and not leave to the vendor.

We were very unlucky that day 1 of the start of the work was when we had one of the snow storms, but they  still came and worked the day to prep and begin sanding the floor. Upon arrival, there are two teams (vans) who comes to sand and stain, and the other to repair or replace any damaged and/or gaps in the wood that needs to be filled.
We were satisfied with the sanding, staining, and the poly process, and appreciate that John came to the house on one of the days to inspect and address an issue with additional board replacement - the unfortunate unsatisfactory work we weren't quite happy with was:
1. They unknowingly turned on the fan a/c in the house which then transferred the smell of the poly and dust into all the rooms that were sealed off and originally uncontaminated.
2. The team who were responsible to replace and fill any holes or damages on the salvageable boards, didn't do so. If there were more than a few, we were quite willing and happy to replace or make additional payments to have this done, but no one including the team leaders came forward to bring up and discuss the issue. We were slightly disappointed because the rest of the house looks beautiful, but as you walk around you can catch a couple of boards that were neglected and left with slight dips that were never filled.
3. Additionally, we decided to proceed the work with dust instead of dustless, which we were informed quite popular and not as bad as people think, especially when you're not staying in the house for the week. However, I wish we were informed that all the walls would be covered with dust in which we would have to wipe  and clean upon completion.
Other than that, I am very happy with the payment schedule and options available. John was always reachable via the office and his cell phone, and promptly returned my calls and answer any concerns when I call or email him. Additionally, without asking, he has always emailed me with updates, and daily schedules of the work. This was very much appreciated as we had to leave our spare keys to the house with them as we were unable to enter our house throughout the whole week while work was being done.
John seemed like a very experienced and professional business man, but as I said, it's a shame that one or two of his men lacked the passion and care for the quality of the work.

Three guys did the job in about 5 hours.
The workers were professional, thorough and did their best to contain the dust.
They hung a large tarp at the bottom of my staircase to close off the living room to reduce the spread of dust.
The floors look amazing!

Please help me.  I hope your "Big-Team" will get together on this and provide some advice.  We had used Blesing's services to refinish our master bedroom suite and a smaller bedroom back in July of 2012. We were so pleased with the way the floors turned out.  It was exactly what we wanted.  I even sent Mr. John Blesing an  email thanking him and praising his staff.  He replied that "he runs a tight ship".  Overall a great experience..
Last month, we called to have the remaining 2 bed rooms completed with the expectation that there would be no problems especially since they had completed the other rooms and we just wanted the exact process repeated for these 2 rooms.  Two workers came as promised on October 29 and performed the work, for which we paid them in full.
When the floors dried, they were nothing at all like the other rooms.  They had a completely different finish.  I called them and they came out again a few days later and again applied the polyurethane.  Once again, upon drying, the finish was still dull (satiny) where my other floors were semi-gloss at best.
We did not know what to do and called again.  I practically had to plead for them to come and see what I was talking about instead of thinking we were just being overly-picky.  They came again and the worker named "Nathan" said "Oh, my you are right, this is a totally different finish"..   Again went through the process, and NOW I have 2 floors that are so shiny, I could almost see my reflection in them!!     Needless to say, my husband and I called and left messages  at least three times, I emailed Mr. BLesing, and a Mr. Dan Blesing that had provide the quote, I spoke to "Joanne" the receptionist and we were told there was nothing they can do.  My husband tipped the workers each time they came although it was no fault of ours.. Upon leaving messages we explained we would be willing to pay, we do not want anything done for freee - just wanted out rooms to look consistent not totally mismatched...  Now they are ignoring us altogether.  Please help.

I have been wanting to write this review for weeks, but I have been traveling and too busy. First of all, I want to say my husband and I are  EXTREMELY pleased with the professional work that was done to refinish our existing floors and to install hardwood floors in the kitchen which was not in there.
The men were courteous and always on time. The work took a week with several returns by Blesings employees, NOT A CONTRACTOR.  The work done in our bedrooms was done by sub-contractors from a large floor covering warehouse we bought the bedroom flooring. The quality of the material and workmanship can not begin to compare to what Blesings Flooring and its employees have  done. Don't cut corners. Go with quality and privately owned businesses.
They refinished the existing floors in our dining room and living room area and when finished, they cleaned up the dust so well that you could wipe your hands across the window sill or walls and not find any dust. They had to cut the floor in our kitchen to install hardwood floors and they did an excellent job without scratching my cabinets that were in place. Also, they matched the wood and stain of the new floor in the kitchen to the old floor in the dining/living room. Because I did not know what color stain I wanted, they showed me several samples of what it would look like on my floor. Terrific job and so polite and patient with me.
They do not do millwork but when they finished the living/dining room area, they did a great job of matching the stain to the existing stained wood baseboards that we had installed. Just wonderful workmenship. I would recommend them and have done so already to everyone looking to have their floors refinished or new floors installed. We had a lot of work done this fall on the floors in our house and I wish that we used Blesings Floors for the two bedrooms that were done earlier. We will be using them to have hardwood floors installed downstairs in our family room in the spring.

Blesing's Floors did an impeccable job for us .  We scheduled our floor refinishing around other work we were having done, and they were very accommodating of our many requests to change the scheduled start dates.
First, they took a very beaten up, ancient parquet floor throughout our living room, dining room and entry foyer and made it look like new, even getting rid of oxidized rust spots from nailheads and dark brown water stains left from potted plants.
On the second floor, we had combined two bedrooms to make a larger master, which left the floor totally uneven where the wall had once been.  Blesing's repaired and refinished the wood such that anyone who sees it now cannot believe there were ever two separate rooms.
We are extremely happy with their work and will be using them for any flooring needs in the future.

After we opened a wall to install pocket doors, we discovered flooring that had been covered for ages (possibly a century!) It was a challenge to match the older flooring, which was pocked with nail marks, to the stain of the two adjoining rooms. Blesing took great care in the process and involved us in choosing the best match. Despite the seemingly high price, we were very pleased with the outcome. John Blesing was reliable and showed up punctually. A real pro.

I was very pleased with the quality of the refinishing job. The floors
look great. However, when the job was done, the crew brought the carpet down to the end of my
driveway, left it there, and drove away. I assumed it was an oversight
and left a voice mail message on Blesing's phone.  I never received a
call back and had to deal with the carpet disposal problem on my own. (Not a small thing in NJ). Of the total $700 charge, $30 was associated with the carpet removal that never happened..

Very happy with the whole experience!I didn't have an appointment with John but younger guy,who didn't say much so I was little bit apprehensive about using this company. But the price was best out of three estimates and they had great reviews on Angie's list. Scheduling was easy. John was accommodating since I wanted them to sand and apply one coat of water based poly and then come back after I finish with painting and do final coat. Everything went great, without a problem and I look at my floors every day and can not believe how good they look!!!

Very responsive to my initial call and came out for an estimate the very next day. After the fact I ended up tearing out the laminate & linoleum layers covering the hallway, which wasn't included in the original estimate, and they happily came back out to assess and measure the additional work. They were upfront with setting expectations for the process and about the variability of the outcome for certain spots, including the difference in how the different woods would take the stain. The stain didn't dry in time for the scheduled first coat of polyurethane, so rather than just plowing through and saving themselves a trip back, they called and explained that we'd be delayed by a day until they were comfortable with how dry it was. The crew was extremely neat and professional and the end product came out well beyond our expectations. I've seen my fair share of refinished floors, both good and bad, and they made our 70 year old floors look brand spanking new.
These guys are awesome. Highly recommended.

Blesing's Hardwood Flooring provided a competitive estimate to remove carpet from 12 stairs and a small landing, refinish the stairs, install wood flooring on the landing (nosing and thresholds) and base molding at my residence. Owner/operator John Blesing went over the specifics of the job and noticed other issues that were only apparent due to closer visual inspection, but went unnoticed by his competitors. His crew arrived promptly on the scheduled date and time and were very meticulous with making sure all areas were covered to prevent damage and dust.   The job went flawlessly, producing the highest level of craftsmanship. Their attention to detail was bar none, right down to the finish. I've dealt with several professional contractors and Blesing's Hardwood Flooring are definitely first rate.  If you want the best at a fair price they should be your only choice.

We were selling my in-laws home, which needed some upgrades to be more
appealing to buyers. John Blesing gave us an estimate for refinishing,
since it appeared that there was existing hardwood in the living/dining
room. We accepted the proposal and the crew got there ready to work
within the week. John discovered that there was actually polyurethaned
plywood under the carpet, so the job turned into a new floor
installation. The price he quoted was very fair for the large space, and
he was able to still get the floors finished with the same crew in the
same timeframe. It came out beautiful, and the floor has been one big
reason why the house is now sold. I am planning to hire Blesing Floors
again in the coming weeks for my own home.

Mr. Blessing showed up promptly for the estimate and sent me the details by e-mail, also very promptly. This work involved a rental apt and did not  have to be a masterpiece job, but timing was extremely critical since tenants were moving in from another state. Also the work was spread-out over the Labor Day weekend and  I was very concerned that the work be completed on time.
On Saturday Sept. 1, the crew showed up on time and quickly removed the old rugs, they then proceeded to sand the floors and afterwards applied polyurethane. They then returned promptly on Tuesday morning to complete the job. Everything was done in a workmanlike  and efficient manner. I was pleased with the work and would recommend them to anyone needing wood floor refinishing.

Blesing's was very prompt in returning my initial call and overall very responsive with setting up appointments.  Unfortunately, though, the quality of work was just terrible.  I chose Blesing's due to Angie's List rave reviews (which had proved to be right on for other contract work before this particular experience) but I am so disappointed that our outcome was simply awful compared to others.
I interacted with the owner, John, for the administrative elements (so perhaps he does better work if personally involved), but he had another team out to perform the actual work.  During the appointment, one of the two guys spent the majority of the time sitting in the van talking on his cell phone.  Meanwhile, the floor refinishing turned out streaky and while they were willing to attempt a 2nd coat during a subsequent visit to correct it, even that 2nd visit left it less-than-perfect with major brush strokes still visible on the floor.
In addition, they were supposed to fill nail holes left by the carpet installation that had been covering the floor and didn't complete that work either.  Specifically, some were filled by my request after the 2nd visit scheduled to correct the poor work in the first go-round, but not all.  And, to add insult to injury, the floor filler didn't match the wood so it left light polka dots all over the floor. I know for a fact that there is matching floor filler at Home Depot if they had cared to match it - I have since had to correct that myself.  And finally, had I not reminded them that they were supposed to take the carpet away as included in the invoice, they would have left me with that mess as well.  The pictures I took speak for themselves.  Extremely disappointed.
Response from Blesing's Hardwood Flooring
"We went back to this job and corrected the problems that were pointed out to us. After we returned to correct these problems, the homeowner was very pleased with our work. We stand behind our work, and are not happy unless the customer is happy!"
