He left on Friday and by Saturday night I lost it completely. It was a real hot week and I was concerned for my dog. I called everywhere trying to buy window units. I finally ended up ordering three units online and it came on a Tuesday. Thank God I had a small window unit upstairs for me and my dog.
The problem wasn't fixed. I have a large home and a new unit would've cost me $6,000.00 or $7000.00. I just hope this doesn't effect my heat when I turn it on. I will never call them again.
Again, he was nice and very professional, but more interested in selling me a new unit then fixing the problem. He wasn't mean, but I kept telling him no and that I didn't want his boss to come out and talk to me. about buying a new unit.
I was really shocked and was happy that they came out right away, within two hours of my call. The service call price was only around $89.00, but he didn't do anything. I just don't trust them now. I will never call them again.
I thought the knowledge he had guided me in a good purchase decision, and the price was fair.
I would recommend CRT Mechanical to anyone in a heartbeat.
Thanks Chris!
depot considering buying a $100 ohm tester. They didn't have these jumpovers i "should" be testing, they didn't have the 3 AMP fuse i kept blowing, and at this point i was still shooting in the dark. I (metephorically) slapped myself in the head and realized I was just getting in deep. I id the smart thing a called in a professional. This is my 3rd time using CRT (for three different things) and I couldn't be happier. I called the office around 10 am and Chris was able to make it to my
house about 3ish. Great response time considering it is the first hot day of the year and there must be a lot of people who are realizing their ac isn't working. Because I had done some initial troubleshooting, Iexplained to Chris exactly what I was able to determine. Now most contractors would pretty much blow off the moron homeowner who doesn?t know what the heck he?s talking about. Chris listened to what I had done and found and immediately went the next step to figure out exactly what the problem was. Literally 5 minutes later he was done. I had cold air pumping through my sweltering house. JOY!

On 5/30/2013, I called for service because no refrigerant, no cooling on the air conditioning. Danny "found a leak on the shrader valve, replaced parts, charged system 3 lbs. refrigerant" Cost $568.17. My 5 year Warranty on this system was set to expire on 8/2014. Claimed not covered by warranty.
On 6/9/2014, same problem. Danny again added refrigerant and I paid for another "diagnosis", cost $241.82. Danny also noted on the service order that " need to find out if under warranty, called Harding - they will call me back".
On 6/26/2014, I again called because my air conditioning was not working. again no refrigerant. Joe "reclaimed all refrigerant, removed defective valves. Charged system to prior subcooling. System running to manufacturers design." Cost $1571.83. I called Chris to complain about the charge in view of the fact that this was the same problem that I had one year ago and the problem was not fixed. Claimed not covered by warranty but agreed to reduce the price to $911.64 because of what I had just spent for repairs 2 weeks ago and the previous year. My warranty expired in 8/2014.
6/1/2015, I called again, same problem. Danny did another leak search and "diagnosis" and found no refrigerant and indicated that the system needed a new "coil" and unfortunately my warranty expired in 8/2014. Cost of service $297.46. Cost to replace coil and refrigerant: $1868.22! I informed Danny that I did not think that I owed anything because of my previous service calls and the fact that this should have been diagnosed either in 2013 or 2014 when the system was under warranty. I requested that Chris call me to discuss this matter. I left an additional message the following day and never received a call back.
"Member has been a customer for a couple of years now. Back in May of 13 the customer was low on charge. Our first time to this home. We charged it up after a leak search was declined by customer. In June of 14 the customer had the same problem. Again a leak search was declined and we were requested to just charge it up. This year again we were called out. Customer finally decided to have the leak search preformed. We pressurized the entire system, isolated the condensing unit and returned a few days later to find a leak in the coil. The customer never registered his equipment and the standard warranties had already expired. At this time the customer have us a hard time about why this was not fixed last year or the previous year. We explained to him that he had just wanted us to charge it and go and not preform a leak search because it was hot and he didn't want to be without air. We have had this customer for a few years and like everyone other customer we bend over backwards to help them out or get there fast to fix what's broke. I had just spent the last 2 weeks begging and pleading with my supplier to give me a replacement coil and the day I receive it and about to call the customer with the good news I get this report. My customer service will never change and we will always strive for perfection. Sometimes things just don't go as planned."
