Did not install system correctly. Not balanced and did not fill with proper amount of fluids. The service people they send out do not have the ability nor knowledge to fix their systems. We were accused of sabotaging the system. The servicemen, claimed that "gnomes or ghosts were causing the problem. " After calling every couple of days to get the system fixed we finally called local Carrier representative who balanced the system and filled it with the proper amount of fluid.

He came to my place to replace my faucets and that is all. He was very unprofessional and the price for these 2 faucets was outrageous. They are so tight that it takes all my strength to turn them on and off. 

They sent another person back to my place but were very argumentative and wouldn't help me out. They play on your values to get work. Be AWARE! DON'T USE THESE COMPANY!

The sewer clog was removed and we did not go for the 2500.00 plus option thankfully.

Overall, the experience was excellent. I live in a home that’s over 100 years old, and it was during the winter that my heater broke during a very cold day. The technicians that they sent showed up when they were supposed to. They were so professional, polite, knowledgeable and cleaned up after themselves.  They quickly diagnosed the problem. They were incredibly responsive and reasonable in their prices, too!  I actually called the owner to thank him personally. It was a pleasure to work with them and I’d have them back if needed.

I just moved into my new home and we moved all our stuff into the basement and planned to unpack during the week. Well, the sewage drain backed up on us and flooded the basement. I searched for someone local and decided to go with American Specialty. There were no Angies reviews but I saw 16 Google reviews and all were very positive. I will have to concur with those reviews because the two guys that were here identified and resolved the issue. They were polite, professional, courteous and had a good sense of humor. Highly recommend.

A crew arrive as arranged, on time. They began the job and stayed into the evening until job was completed. Took all old units and cleaned the work area up. One of their engineers' returned next day to recheck work.  About 2 weeks later we were not getting the power to cool the house. I called the company their response time was about 48 hours, they came later that day to correct problem. They corrected the problem quickly. We are very satisfied and would recommend them to our friends and family.

They were very personable, kind, knowledgeable and courteous. They worked quickly and everything was installed the way it should have been. They also cleaned up after themselves. Their pricing was a bit on the higher side but the quality of their work was very good.

Tub drain leak from 2nd floor through first floor ceiling. I opened the ceiling so all accessible and leak clearly visible. Called American, told of $30.00 visit fee, regardless of any work done. Not told of flat rates, not given any idea of how pricing works. American arrived on time, reviewed work, came back from van with two estimate. First, $90.00 to simply open drain and try, no guarantees, to seal leak. Second, $600.00 to replace all the plumbing, drain, shoe, etc. with brass. Did not mention flat rate and did not explain what work was going to be done on option 1. Since I did not understand that this was a flat fee, I did not ask what work would be done. Five minutes - $90.00 (visit fee foregone as agreed with appointment secretary as I was a new customer). When manager returned my call of dissatisfaction, told me I should have asked the right questions, that no one ever complained and that perhaps I was not the right type of customer for Americans' business. That certainly is true. As an expert with the problem clearly identified, the plumber knew the effort involved with simply opening the drain and checking the seal. Certainly, there was no need to present me with the $600.00 option so early in the process. The irony is that if I were told up front that the job was a fixed rate and could take only 5 minutes, I may not have used these folks and only paid the service fee. Then I would not be writing this complain and while thinking they are expensive, would have been impressed by their timeliness, preparedness and integrity (full disclosure - customer is first).

They answered the phone and responded to our call promptly. The work was scheduled for the next day, and the most professional plumber I've ever met came to our house. He explained what he was going to do, did it quickly, and left absolutely no mess. The only issue was the price. They clearly know that good, professional plumbers are hard to find and that they are good, professional plumbers. They charged us more than double the nearest estimate from competitors we priced. It hurts your wallet to use them, and I'll hesitate before calling them because of it, but I will never call anyone else again.

THE PRICE WAS WAY TOO HIGH. THEY OFFER GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY WERE ON TIME, POLITE, & COURTEOUS. THEY FINISHED THE JOB ON TIME. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

THEY DID A FINE JOB. THEY WERE NOT ALWAYS ON TIME. IT TOOK THEM A WHILE TO ANSWER OUR CALLS. THEY LEFT NO MESSES. EVERYTHING IS WORKING PROPERLY. WE HAVE NO COMPLAINTS.

I WOULD SAY THAT THIS COMPANY WAS VERY GOOD. THEY SEEMED TO HAVE NO PROBLEMS DOING ANY OF THE JOBS. I WOULD SAY THAT IF WE EVER DID HAVE ANYTHING LIKE THAT DONE AGAIN, WE WOULD CALL THEM.

I FOUND THIS COMPANY IN THE PHONE BOOK. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE HAVE USED THEM. THEY PROVIDED THE NEW HOT WATER HEATER AND GAVE US A FREE ESTIMATE. I FEEL THEY DID A GOOD JOB.

THE ONLY NEGATIVE THING ABOUT THIS COMPANY IS THAT THEY ARE A LITTLE EXPENSIVE. THEY DO SHOW UP WHEN THEY SAY THEY WILL AND THEY DID CLEAN UP EVERYTHING FOR US. THEY WERE THE ONLY COMPANY THAT CALLED ME BACK.
