Eddie B. Plumbing

I purchased a water heater through Lowes and Edddie B Plumming was the installer they assigned the job. The cost was suppose to be $750.The water heater cost was $250 so $500 was for installation. Edddie B Plumbing called and said it doesn't include permits. I said how much for permits and he said $350. I said to him," You must be kidding." and he then got rude on the phone. I use to work for the township so I know it doesn't cost a lot. I offered to go to the township and pull the permits to save him the time and me money and he tried to tell me that I couldn't do that, and said I don't have the proper license. I said you don'tt know what your talking about I would just get them and pay but your name and license will go on the permit. He then changed his tone and said well I don't allow customers to pull permits because I got fined $1000 one time for a customer who said he was going to pull permits and didn't. I said,"Well shame on you for not confirming they a ctually pulled them before you started the job." I called the Twp. to get the permit cost. It was $13 and $70 so I told him I did not want him doing the job. We contacted Lowes to cancel as we felt he was over charging. He offered to lower his charge to $250 but I still felt that $167 to spend maybe 30 min getting a permit was a bit much. He was already making $500 for instillation.
