R Knable Carpets

Hired R Knable to install a carpet in small bedroom They did a good job in about 2 hours. My only complaint is that they were not able to shave the bottom of the door to close it properly.

Rob was very nice.  I called on a Saturday and he was out the next day to give us a quote.  He worked with us on the price and was very good to work with.  The installation went great, they were in and out and the carpet looks amazing.

He was great. He gives a good customer service. He gave a good advice on the quality of the carpets, and what carpets should be put on the floor especially that it is for an apartment. He even brought samples, and showed them to me. He does have a great price, and good quality carpets. The problem was during the installation. The installers should have been more careful in scraping off the old carpet, because I had antique flooring underneath it that needed extra care to prevent it from getting damaged. It became obvious that it was just another job for them. So, I had to stay and check what they were doing, to make sure that they did not damage my two hundred year old flooring further. At the end of the installation, the installers did not clean up and left pieces of carpets all around. So, watch for the installers.

I am a bit conflicted on how to rate this company.  I would give the owner an "A" and the install team an "F".I contacted this company to replace the carpeting on the first floor of my small medical office.  The owner(Robert) promptly came out, evaluated my office and gave me an estimate.  I was concerned with the moving of some large file cabinets, and Robert suggested he cut around them and supply me with a section to replace the part under the cabinet should I ever move it.  This was acceptable to me.  We decided on a date for installation.
On the day of installation, the crew(3 Men) arrived late.  Throughout the day, one or two were constantly leaving so it was rare that all three were here at the same time.  My office consists of a small reception area, waiting room and 4 small exam rooms.  The crew took over 6 hours to install the carpet.  I was in another part of the building, and at one point when I checked on them, I found one person working in the dark(!)  When I questioned him about it, he simply stated the power just went out.  I checked the circuit breakers and noted a breaker had been flipped, so I turned the breaker back on.  When I questioned the worker about whether he plugged something in, or why the breaker was set off, he became sarcastic and responded, "Well its on now isn't it?"  Rather than getting into an argument with him, I let it drop.When the workers were done, they came to me for payment before leaving.  There were scraps and fibers everywhere.  I asked if they were going to vacuum it, and they responded that they didn't have a vacuum cleaner.  I asked where the pieces were for under the file cabinet, and they said they would leave a scrap(I later found all their carpet leftovers and scraps outside my front door which I had to haul to a dumpster).
When putting everything back in place in my office, I noticed my main computer server was on the floor with one side hanging off it.  I thought this was strange as I had left it up on a counter.  I tried to turn it on and it would not turn on.  Upon closer exam, I noticed a big dent on one corner.  I realized the computer was probably knocked off the counter and hit the floor, shorting out and causing the power outage.
I called Robert who was genuinely concerned.  He spoke with his employees, and after numerous calls back and forth, his employee admitted knocking the computer off the counter and causing the power outage. Robert did the right thing in covering the cost of the repair and even put me in touch with a computer expert who came to my office Saturday night and repaired the computer.  I could not have opened my business on Monday without that computer.
So in summary, a horrible installation experience, but the owner was supportive in helping me resolve the issue.  In summary, I would not use this company again.

The whole experience was great.  Rob Knable was punctual, helpful, and professional.  I thought it was a good price for the work performed.  The installers were also punctual and polite.  The finished product looked great.  I am very satisfied.

So far we are very impressed with service, professionalism, punctuality, and knowledge of what would be best for our needs.  Again the carpet gets delivered next week and unless anything changes we are very happy with the service thus far.

Update: The carpet actually took 4 weeks to get due to the binding that needed to be done.  We are very happy with the carpet, padding and delivery.  We wish we would have known it was going to take 4 weeks as opposed to the 2 weeks we originally were told, but all in all are still very happy.

We were very satisfied with everthing about r knable carpets. We shopped for awhile for carpet for our basenment which we were using for our tv entertainment and childrens play area. R knable carpets was easily the best choice. Their price was very reasonable and they came to us with samples. Mr. knable was very friendly and extremely proffesional.  We called him on a saturday and set up a date the following tuesday to have him come out and give us an estimate. He came that tuesday took measurements,answered our questions and gave us a quote. We were very happy with his price  and set up a date to have the carpet installed a week later. His guys showed up at the exact time he said they would and worked quickly and efficiently. They did a great job and left behind no mess. We love our new carpet and could not have asked for a better experience. We have hardwood floors in our bedrooms and living room. We are planning  on having carpet installed sometime next year. We will definately be using r knable carpets.

It went very well. This is for a business.  I got their number off of Angie's list.......made the call, met with the owner a day or two later.  My budget is tight, so after  the initial price quoted, I asked if there was anyway it could be made a little cheaper.  He was very accommodating,working the numbers again.  Gave me a little lower price, but said it would have an extra seam or two, but they wouldn't show.  I said......that's perfect then!  He made a phone call, and we set up an installation date in two days. Oh, I forgot to mention, it is a rental, and the concrete floor under the existing carpet had some bumps. He noticed it, and said.........no problem, just tell the guys when they come out, and they'll level it for you. (it was an additional 30.00 for three areas to be done), which he told me upfront it would be a little extra.  I had wooden molding already in place, but they worked it anyway.  Everyone was on the ball, and just got in and got the job done. It's just the way I like to do things!

I found Mr. Knable's company on Angies' List.  I then contacted Mr. Knable and indicated the style of carpet I wanted.  Mr. Knable then came to my apartment, showed me samples of the kind of carpet I wanted, and measured the rooms to be carpeted.  I selected the carpet and he gave me a price that I thought was fair.  I gave him a deposit.  Shortly thereafter, he came back, despite a delay caused by a snowstorm, and installed the carpet while I was out of town, collecting a check I had left for him that paid the remaining balance.  When I returned, I was very happy with the result.  I continue to enjoy the carpet and am glad that I used his services.  I would definitely do business with him again.

I was very impressed overall with Knable Carpets.  They came out on a Sunday morning for an estimate, and were right on time (actually a couple minutes early!).  Mr. Knable was very professional and friendly. his pricing was very reasonable and he estimated that the carpeting would be installed within a week to ten days, which was fine. He called us three days later and said they could come out the next day.  the installation took a day and a half and they did a very professional job. the installers moved all the furniture, cleaned up nicely and took the old carpet to the dumpster.  I would recommend this company to anyone. They did a fantastic job.

This was our lost quote and the company had the best quality of carpet to select from. The owner as well as the installers were very professional. I have recommended this company to my friends and family. We will be definitely using them again.

It was a very positive experience, they did a very nice job. My wife said her interaction with them was very good and we were happy with the finished product. The price was very good and they also did some linoleum tile for us in the kitchen.

Due to construction delays, I had to change the installation date on him twice but he was very accomodating to me. I called several companies for estimates. This company offered the best pricing for the quality carpet I was looking for. The owner himself came to my home with several samples. I found some that I wanted for most of my home but needed to see others for my bedrooms. I then visited his showroom and found exactly what I wanted. The job was started within 2 days of my selection and completed in the same day. The men were very friendly, professional and did a wonderful job installing the carpet. When they were finished, they cleaned everything up and then put all my furniture back in the rooms. I couldn't have been more pleased. We are looking to carpet our basement withing the next 6 months and I wouldn't use any company, but this one again. I highly reccommend them.
