It’s very rare that people exceed expectations but Steve Kost absolutely did that. Twice before we have had our house painted and neither of those painters did anywhere near the prep work Steve and his crew performed. They took about one week to paint two sides of our house. First, they scraped all of the badly peeling paint. Then they did a second longer round of prep work with a sander. Amazing! We were totally impressed. They put drop cloths every where and were careful to protect plants and porch furniture. They showed up a little before 8 am each morning as promised and cleaned up very well at the end of each day. At the end of the job they went above and beyond with the clean up. I think Steve is a very honest and hardworking person. I would recommend him without reservations. Looking forward to next year when he comes back to do the other two sides of our house!

Steve Kost's work speaks for itself. I interviewed several painters and knew the moment we started talking about our project, that Steve was the one. He was attentive to what we wanted done, which he meticulously carried out. It began with prepping the house and making sure it was ready for the paint, resolving some minor repairs, and all the way through to the painting. The paint was applied so cleanly and smoothly. Our house looks so beautiful...it looks like a new house! Steve is reliable and a true craftsman!

In response to Steve Kost, as I said I paid in full and the judge saw all copies of payments. I hired Steve to paint, that is all. Not his opinions. He demanded $300.00 more for "work" after he received and cashed my checks for the full amount for nearly $4000.00. I didnt know about this "WORK", or asked before it was performed. Steve couldn't show me any support for his claim. All verbal. He started harassing me by phone, and I had my brother talk to him whose a contractor. Nearly a year later I was sued for $300.00 . Now, I have to pay steve monthly. I live 5 minutes from him and dropped the check off in his mailbox. The post office is further away! There wasn't any instructions of means for the "DEMAND" money for Steve's pocket. I Received a nasty text threatening me. Steve could have said simply, "please mail the check next month and not drop it off" . Instead a harassing and threatening letter. I am worried about my safety. My township police is on notice and have filed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

"The customer is terribly confused , 1 false accusation after another.this was the first incident in 32 years of business that I had to take a customer to court , it really wasn’t about the money was the principal of respect and honor, I’ve never threatened a customer not alone a woman. I did send customer text not to drop off payments to my house use the postal service I also instructed that if you come to house again I will go to authorities and enforce restraining order to avoid conflicts the customer was found not credible in her testimony by the Judge were the judge found my testimony credible, unfortunately the customer is disgruntled of the outcome, she has neglected her property for the last 30 years , there was more rotted wood on the house, she was financially unprepared to do all repairs, she also did not pay the company $4000 , the total with judgment came to $3,350"

I do not recommend Kost Painting. My trim of my house has already begun to peel from August 2017. Many areas were painted over rotten wood and not fixed, or called to my attention. Paint on my windows, areas were missed, my surveillance camera was removed and another pointed upward. My bushes were cut down without my consent for his ladder, now the bushes are dead when there was ample room to place the ladder. A professional would have known this. I still have obvious rot in my trim and after paying nearly $4000.00. Steve did not do the painting..his two men did. Steve showed up in the AM to make sure they were there then left. Heard him yell at his co workers. After the job was completed and paid for , Steve wanted more money!! When I went to look for my fathers hedge trimmers in the fall, they were gone. I left my garage open so they could use the outlet and to work. I didn't think at all anything would be stolen. They were the only people in my garage. You can see the evidence in the attached pictures. They have to be opened so they can be seen in the correct position.

Miss [Member Name Removed]’s house has been negeclted maintenance for the last 30 years, miss [Member Name Removed]’s house needs complete renovation , her 1 side of house her siding was brown aluminum at 1 time , the years of neglect have led to fading the side is now a orange color, her landscaping what’s left of it is so over grown you need a chainsaw to maneuver your way through area’s there are disgusting odors of cat urine , complete rotted wood which applying paint is like putting “lipstick on a pig” miss [Member Name Removed] is the first dissatisfied customer I’ve had in 32 years , I actually took the time and walked the property to review all the areas of neglect and failure to address over the years , miss [Member Name Removed] is financial handicapped . Her dissatisfaction of my professional performance is solely based on her sneaky way of not paying in full and lost judgment in court , the judge found her to be “ not credible in her testimony “"

Could not have been better! Steve Kost and his crew were particularly meticulous in their preparation work, inside and out, and provided the most professional and excellent job that could be expected. STEVE AND HIS CREW ARE EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL AND TIMELY. IF THERE WAS AN ISSUE OR DELAY DUE TO WEATHER, STEVE CALLED FIRST THING IN THE MORNING TO LET YOU KNOW HE AND HIS CREW WOULDN'T BE THERE. HE IS FULLY INSURED AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. I COULDN'T DECIDE ON THE COLORS I WANTED AT FIRST OR THEY WAY I WANTED THEM, STEVE ACTUALLY PAINTED SMALL AREAS OF THE HOUSE AND WINDOWS IN THE DIFFERENT COLORS SO I COULD MAKE A DECISION AND LIVE WITH MY DECISION OVER THE NEXT 20 YEARS. I NEEDED SOME OTHER WORK AND REPAIRS ON STAINED GLASS WINDOWS AS WELL AS CARPENTRY WORK AND HE AGAIN RECOMMENDED PROFESSIONAL CONTRACTORS WHO WERE AS METICULOUS AS HE IS! ABSOLUTE PLEASURE TO WORK WITH AND WOULD ONLY HIRE STEVE KOST TO DO ANY OF MY PAINTING NEEDS. Over the course of 5 years, Steve has practically painted the whole interior of my home. Steve is responsive, very thorough and detail oriented with his work. While working, Steve is careful to keep things clean and never leaves a mess. I definitely trust him and would hire him again.

Steve did a great job from beginning to end. Steve was referred to me by family members and they did not steer me wrong. When I called Steve he came out on a Saturday to give an estimate - he is very willing to be flexible around your work schedule. As soon as he had an opening in his schedule he fit my job in. His work is impeccable. I am very pleased with the job Steve did. He is respectful of your home and time, arrived promptly and left my home spotless. Steve is also very trustworthy. I left him to work in my home while I was at work and didn't give it a second thought. You will be happy if you hire Steve to perform any painting work needed at your house.

Mr Cost's major strengths are his prep work, his impeccable painting and his neatness !
My husband built a large laundry room and there was a good deal of prep work to ready the room for painting. Mr. Cost spent the needed time (and elbow grease!) to get the walls ,woodwork and wainscott in perfect condition before applying paint. The result is always a paint job that is attractive and holds up for years.
We have used Mr Cost exclusively for all our painting needs since the mid 1990's. He has painted our home's exterior and all the interior rooms of our home. He is a gentleman whom my husband and I fully trust to work in our home, most notably when we are not even home.
Note : The dollar figure above includes the cost of paint. Due to a respiratory condition, I needed Mr. Cost to use a costly no VOC paint product.

Provider was very reliable. Communicated well by text and phone. He came out, looked at the job and provided a written, reasonable estimate. He showed up when he said he would. Very trust-worthy. I gave him a house key to provide the service in my abscence.
He cleaned up after painting was done. We found the rooms painted and left as original. I will use Kost Painting again and would recommend him without reservation. GREAT JOB!
