I was able to schedule an appointment quickly, they were recommended to me from neighbors.
Desmond cleaned and checked our fireplace. He was very reasonable and honest. He also worked very quickly and left the area very clean.

I spent about $1600 because it was some extensive repair that needed to be done on my chimney. I was really pleased with the quality of work they did and his prices. He was very honest compared to other estimates that I got from some other places that were trying to get me to do a bunch of crazy stuff with my chimney. He was very straightforward, very knowledgeable about fireplaces and chimneys and we were pleased with the work he did for us.

Desmond was great to work with and completed the job timely with good quality. He also came back on the following Saturday to check and repair the inside of the chimney. Would definitely call him again for future chimney work!

Desmond came down to inspect our chimney and to hook up a wood burning
stove.  We had encountered some problems years ago and received a few
different opinions and estimates to correct the problems and make the
stove functional.  None of the proposals seemed enticing, so we went
without the stove.  This year we really wanted to get that additional
heat in the family room, and I'd run into Desmond on a job we were doing
in Tewksbury.  His work there seemed excellent, so I invited him to
check out my problem.
He quickly discerned the issues and
proposed a solution, so we scheduled the work.  He came with a helper
and had the problem resolved in short order, cleaning up after
themselves and joining us for a cup of hot coffee and some cookies.
Now we're enjoying the warmth of a wood burning stove and looking forward  to having Desmond come back
in the Spring to tackle some brick issues on the chimney.  He's a delight to work with, and clearly takes pride
in the quality of his work.  Highly recommended!

New Panel, Over head lighting, Attic fan, Bathroom vent fans, addition of interior and exterior outlets.  They did everything but rewire my house. |Jack's crew was wonderful.  They were always on time and really know their stuff.  Very careful around my 2 year old as well.  Had a little bit of trouble getting a start date as he had another job run long.  But once at my house was focused on me, and got the job done quickly.

Desmond was great to work with.  He was responsive and friendly, the work was done quickly at the agreed upon price and the chimney looks great.  Desmond even took the time to stop by while another contractor was working on replacing my roof to make sure that they covered up the work properly during a rain storm.  He also helped us make sure the flashing around the chimney was done correctly and did it for us to make sure it was done properly after the work on the roof was completed.  Really a wonderful experience and I will definitely call him again if I ever need future work done.

The project went extremely well and I was thrilled with the quality of the work. Desmond is extremely honest and fair and It was truly a pleasure to work with him. His team was very talented and were true craftsmen. Desmond's top priority is making sure he delivers a quality product that will last and bring years of happiness. He was able to match the original bricks of the house so you could hardly tell the difference in the area he rebuilt above the roofline.

I would absolutely hire Afton Contractors again and would recommend him to anyone else. It is helpful knowing that the structure is really well built and know what I need to take care of it. I can sleep better at night that he delivered exactly what i needed at a fair price of the highest quality. Also. given the nature of the work, it helps to be flexible on start date as bad weather, like we have had this summer, can affect the start date of a chimney rebuild or repair project.
