Apex Appliance Repair & Air Duct Cleaning

Caused damage to the ceiling and promised to pay for the damage. But 4 weeks later, ignoring emails and no payment in sight.

I used this company to clean dryer vent for my condo and they charged $65. So when I needed dryer vent cleaning for 2 family house, I called and was given quote of $125. When they arrived, the technician told me that he recommended re-doing the dryer vent for one of the apartments and gave me a quote of $1000 to do that. I told them that I was not interested in that and to do their best cleaning the vent. At job completion, I was told that I owed them $250 because it was a private home. So I paid them because I had no choice. The purpose of this review is to deter anyone else from using them. I hope the $125 extra they charged is worth it to them.

The APEX service person, Gage, did an excellent job. He corrected the rather winding duct system and created a truly efficient connection. He crawled under the deck to suction and clean the dryer vent, and came back with a smile. An excellent worker indeed. I would grade APEX (and their worker Gage) a triple AAA (if there's such a score). Very highly recommended. Thank you very much.

Apex does it again! Communication via email with Bill N in the office was excellent with prompt responses which is huge because its tough for me to talk on the phone while I'm at work. Ray, the tech was great and very candid/easy going, easy to deal with. Used the Angies List coupon as well. Had some issues that delayed the repair, but these were NOT the fault of Apex (and they didn't charge me for having to come back a 2nd time to complete the repair). Great job all around, don't hesitate to call them for your appliance repair needs. And if you ever replace a motor on a dryer, BE SURE to purchase a blower wheel too, just in case! ;)

The technician was on time, called me that he was on his way, and knew what he was doing.

We were very pleased. Vinnie was prompt and had the expertise needed. Within two hours he had parts replaced etc. and the pump was up and running.

John and Zack came to our home, wearing masks and they were extremely professional. They discovered a problem that resulted in a repair of our dryer vent. John presented pricing and told me what needed to be done. He took care of it right away and completed the job. They cleaned up any mess that made was during the repairs. They patched up the holes that were made to do the repairs. We will definitely use their services again.

He never did the job. May dryer vents to the roof of the house, which was to to them when I made the appointment..It rained the day scheduled, and called to cancel, BUT told me he would call back to reschedule. Never called back. I was very dissatisfied with their professionalism .

Guys were friendly, professional, and punctual. Work was done neatly and in a timely fashion. Procedure of both jobs was clearly explained and all questions were answered.

Serviceman was very friendly and knowledgeable. He asked a lot of questions to make sure he diagnosed the problem correctly. He had the part that was needed in his truck and replaced it quickly with no problems. I would highly recommend him and would definitely use this company again.

It went excellent. We had john and zach who were nothing but professional and one of the best workers I've ever dealt with. They were clean and were able to fix the problem quickly. This company is excellent! Every employee from customer service to the employees that did the work were a pleasure to work with and I would definitely recommend to other people! Apex said that the refrigerator needed a new circuit control board, with the cost of parts and labor I decided that the 20 year old refrigerator was not worth fixing. The person from Apex was on time, diagnosed the problem quickly. I would use them again.

They had to replace the pump. He had part with him. Prompt and correct service. Thank you!

So I called that number and had a subsequent long phone conversation with the office about what I wanted done. I wanted my chimney and my gas fireplace inspected because I’m selling my house. They told me they would do a level 2 inspection (whatever that is). I set it up for a week in advance so I could schedule a PTO day from work. The day before, Thursday May 16, I called the office to make sure I was still on the schedule. The woman told me I was and she said her boss told her I did not NEED a level 2 inspection. I told I wanted it inspected even if I did not need it, for safety reasons and because I’m selling the house. She said ok. She did NOT say they would NOT do the inspection for me. Apex was scheduled to arrive at my house between 12:30 and 4, on Friday, and call ahead when they were leaving their previous job. They NEVER bothered to call ahead and arrived at about 4:30. Upon arriving the tech informs me that they WILL NOT be doing anything on my fireplace or chimney. No inspection, no nothing. I ask why and he said because the office told him NOT to do it. He said they do not do that kind of work. That is the reason I hired them in the first place because of the response I got from them on Angie’s List and because the woman on the phone said they could and would do that for me. Why didn’t she tell me NO the week before and I would have skipped them and found someone else? Then the tech guy says the office is going to call me and explain things. They NEVER called. Since they were there and I had already wasted my PTO day I let them clean the HVAC vents, which was also on the schedule. I think Apex is disingenuous and incompetent. Why not explain things to me clearly instead of me wasting a PTO day and then show up at 4:30 with an attitude and tell me what they will and WON’T do? I also had called the Apex office twice Friday afternoon prior to their arrival, once at 2:20 and again at 3:30, wondering why I had not heard from anyone yet about their arrival. I talked to two different women. Why didn’t either one of them explain to me that they were NOT going to do what I hired them to do. Why make me wait until the guy finally shows up on 4:30 on a Friday afternoon and tells me that they are only going to do what THEY want and NOT what the CUSTOMER wants? I notice that Apex gets pretty good reviews here on Angie’s List. Therein lies the problem. They let the good reviews go to their head. They’ve gotten arrogant. “Hey, look at us, we're great. You don’t like it, too bad.” That’s exactly what the tech told me at 4:30 when I complained to him about Apex’s attitude. He said, ‘No, no, we’re a GREAT company, we’re just not going to do this for you because the office told me not to.’ Plus they lied to me because at 4:45 the tech told me that the office was trying to call me to explain things to me and apparently my phone was shut off. My phone was NOT SHUT OFF. It was with me, in my pocket, on, and working. There is also a thing on everyone’s phone that is; call history. There were NO incoming calls on my phone from Apex at all on Friday. Only the two outgoing calls I made to them. The disingenuous, incompetent, unprofessional people at the Apex office did NOT WANT to talk to me at 5 pm on Friday and tell me they had screwed up and had in fact lied to me. I booked an appointment with them a week in advance, on May 10. That gave them an entire week to contact me to let me know they WOULD NOT do what I needed them to do. I could have found another company. I could have rescheduled my PTO time at work. I don’t have an unlimited amount of PTO time available and it must be scheduled in advance. Go back and read the response I got from Apex on Angie’s List to my original inquiry. That is what I hired them to do. Then they show up LATE on Friday afternoon and cop an attitude with me, and lie to me. I do not recommend Apex at all. They are incompetent, have a poor (arrogant) attitude, and poor communication skills. They are unprofessional and less than honest. Apex is a very arrogant company and does not care about customer service or satisfied customers. Perhaps they have too much business, they’re making too much money. I think they also incompetently overbook which is why the tech showed up late to my house, tired, and with an attitude. He asked me if I STILL WANTED my vents cleaned. I believe he would have been happy for me to say no, so they could pack it in, and call it a day at 4:30. The tech guy told me he was dead tired and it had been a long day for him. And Apex still walked away with about $400 of my money for cleaning the vents in my townhouse. I would never use them again.

Apex did a great job. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They showed up on time, took their shoes off every time they walked in and out and worked quickly to get the job done. Will definitely use again.

Raymond diagnosed problem in 5 seconds , defrost not working , replaced defrost timer and thermostat . He is knowledgeable and very personable , a pleasant experience .
