They also didn't do a dump-and-run like past movers .... They took the time to find out where everything was going, set up furniture that had to be taken apart for the move and made sure we were happy with placement. They even hauled an armoire back down 3 flights of stairs when we realized it was too cramped in our bedroom. True to their word the job ended not only with a handshake but also with smiles on all my family's faces. Nice to have the thoughtful service from 3rd generation movers!

Completely professional—on time, rapid loading and unloading safely done. Crew personable, fun to be with. There was a problem with getting a sofa into the living room until they worked out a clever maneuver for doing so. I paid less than the estimate. I recommend them highly.”

I am 8 months pregnant and we needed a couch moved from Montclair, NJ to Queens, NY to make room for our baby.  We wanted it delivered on 12/22 and they were able to accomodate this date last minute.  They adjusted times to pick up around my schedule and delivered around my in-laws schedule. This team of three men came on time, moved the couch and delivered it quickly and seamlessly.  They were friendly and attentive.  They even helped me move my crib.:) everyone was very happy with their service and I would look at using them for much bigger moves and any moves in the future.

They were extremely careful, responsible, professional. The best thing you can say about movers is that nothing went wrong, nothing broke, nothing got "lost," and there was no "attitude.". I can say all of that about Casella and Sons. The only disappointment was that the final cost was about $150 higher than their original estimate. But their original estimate was in the mid-range of the bids I received so it wasn't outrageous for the extent of the job.

We got three estimates to move and Casella and Sons was in the middle. Jason Casella came to our apartment one morning to review our belongings for an estimate and emailed the written estimate later that evening. There was another Casella and Sons at a different address on Angie's List that I think is related, that did not have great reviews, but we decided to go with them because they were the only ones who promised to have four men and because Jason was professional and responsive.
On the day of the move (a cold, foggy, rainy day), Jason and his team showed up on time and began to move right away. We were happy to see that Jason was there the entire time and took an active role in both moving items and directing his men. I think this is very important and made a big difference in our positive experience that we have not had with other movers in the past. The truck loading went well and they showed up at the new house soon after they left our apartment. They unloaded everything in a timely manner and completed the move.
At our request, Jason and a couple of his men went to East Hanover to pick up a dining room table we had purchased that was very
heavy. They quickly returned andassembled the base and top. While this did add some costs to the total, it was more timely and cheaper than what the furniture store wanted to deliver it and saved us a lot of time. Without us asking, Jason also reduced the total because one of his men was late.

I am not recommending them. I didn't know that they were going to charge me from the time they left their place. But when they are actually working at my place. I won't use them again. I will shop around next time.

I had a great experience with this company. When I called to make the appointment, I didn't have to list out all my "inventory" which is required by most moving companies. I've always thought that was a pain... who knows how many boxes they will ultimately end up with? Also, I was moving a pretty short distance (practically across the street), and I didn't like that other moving companies I contacted required a minimum travel expense/fee. Instead, Casella quoted me competitive flat hourly rate, which included the "travel", and our sofa sleeper, which is notoriously heavy. They were on time, friendly, they handled all my stuff carefully, wrapped all my furniture, etc. Most importantly, they were fast and efficient. I was told I would have 2 guys working, but they actually sent 3 (and there was no additional charge, so the whole move went even faster than I expected). They made sure all my boxes and furniture were moved to my new place in the appropriate rooms. Overall a great moving experience, even though we weren't moving far it was totally worth a couple hundred bucks to have everything taken care of in a couple of hours! I highly recommend them.

Three men arrived before the scheduled 8AM start. They immediately began wrapping all the furniture in protective blankets , and efficiently loaded the truck. They were done on time , and the delivery to the new apartment went well. There were no broken items, and we were completed by 11.30 AM.

CASELLA MOVING DID A REALLY GREAT JOB LISTENING TO OUR INSTRUCTIONS AND PUTTING EVERYTHING AWAY CORRECTLY. THEY WORKED VERY EFFICIENTLY AND NOTHING WAS BROKEN DURING THE MOVE.
