Moving
Horrible. I had a pair of Beats headphones that had not been packed because my husband was going to bring them to me in our car and one of the movers picked them up and put them in their pocket and took them to their truck. When my husband asked for them, the guy said that he had packed them but my husband watched him the entire time and told him that he needed him to go to the truck and get them. We had to rent furniture while we waited over a month for them to bring our stuff to Florida. When they arrived, they said we owed $5440 which was double of the original bid of $2709. My husband had a cashiers check of $3700 which is what had been agreed upon. The guys call their bosses and the boss told them that we needed to put the rest on a credit card in order for them to give us our belongings. My husband refused as we did not have access to do that and it was against our contract agreement. The movers then left with our belongings and took them to CubeSmart storage. We argued with this company while sending them money every single month along with having to rent furniture at $600 per month until my husband lost his job in August. In October he finally got them to allow us our belongings, however when we went to Cubesmart, they hadn’t received a release from from the movers. We called and contacted them constantly as did Cubesmart to get the release form. When they finally sent the release form, we find out that they had not been paying on the storage unit and our belongings were scheduled to be auctioned on January 11th despite the fact that we were sending them money to pay the storage unit. When we had first attempted to get our belongings they were $401 in arrears and by the time we were able to get them to send the release form, they were $798 in arrears and refused to pay any of it. In total, we ended up paying the moving company $6801 plus an additional $798 to the storage company on top of having to pay $3600 during that time to rent furniture. When we did finally get our belongings out of storage which they refused to deliver to us, we found many broken and some missing items. The truck had obviously been unloaded into the storage unit very haphazardly as there were boxes that were labeled “very fragile, keep upright, don’t set anything on top” but were in the very back of the unit, upside down and on the bottom of many very heavy boxes. There was loose glass inside of the boxes and falling out everywhere.
