Complete home Hvac systems, plumbing for three bathrooms, all went well, courteous staff, good follow up with contractor and customer also.

I’ve been a customer of Salfi plumbing for over 10 years. With a 3 story 1890’s Victorian house with lots of plumbing parts, we have experienced several plumbing challenges including a lighting strike that blew out my new HVAC system. Salfi has always been availability in a timely manner day and night to help me correct my plumbing issues. Believe me we’ve had several. Burst pipes, leaks onto other floors, backup in our sewer line, several toilet replacements, Sink replacement, gas
line movement, furnace replacement etc. Salfi has always given me peace of mind and fast service when needed. I feel they provide excellent service and have helped me through simple replacements and immediate emergencies. I highly recommend them within a heart beat.

A house that my son was settling on had a
washing machine emptying into the crawl space. Mr. Salfi had been the plumbing
service provider for the previous home owner. (No implication that Mr. Salfi
was in anyway responsible for the open drain.) To sell the house it was required that
this situation be corrected. Also the water was to be turned on and the hot
water heater checked. The work could not be completed before settlement so
Salfi Plumbing submitted an estimate and the work was to be completed as soon
as possible after settlement. The water could not be turned on because a solder
joint in the crawl space had separated and had to be reconnected. This was
corrected, and the hw heater then turned out to need an element (typical repair
a homeowner can do). When the water was turned on at the street, there a leak
at the meter that required another visit to correct.  In several vists over the course of a week or
so, the corrections were all finally made and the people who performed the
repairs were competent in my opinion.
The bill for hooking up a washer drain, installing a hw heater element,
resoldering a copper joint, and fixing a nipple at the water meter at the
street was $2,230.25. When I challenged Mr Salfi on the bills he told me he
charges $145 an hour and that drives the pricing. I think the billing is more
than triple the should-cost price, and had I known what was happening I would
have done all the repairs myself. I only had any work done because I thought
the $1,200 escrowed at settlement was meant to cover everything.
I personally would not use the service again. 
My advice to anyone who wants to use the services of Salfi Plumbing
would be to get the price nailed down in advance of the work, and be very clear about the scope of the work.  If you read the story above and you simply don?t
have knowledge of what?s involved in plumbing work sufficient to give you a
reaction, one way or another, to what was billed, then my advice to you would
be to seek out a plumber on Angie?s list where you find a good number of reviews
indicating the pricing was fair and/or reasonable.
