No written estimates were ever provided. I asked NUMEROUS times over 5 months. Answers: Got new computer, cant access Quicken, too tacky to handwrite. Priomised would not go over verbal estimates on deck. $18500. Went over by $2500. I ordered Trek flooring and classic white railing selected from Trek catalog I showed him. He installed RDL cheaper ,extemely white, railing that looks plastic and didnt match fascia. Used cheap plastic lattice for sides. Door construction under deck for entrance to hose and jacuzzi flimsy. Said he would replace if ever broke.. It is and he isnt answering. It took him 3 months to complete the deck by himself. Took 2 months to finish a 14X14 room Dec thru January. Took too long and billed for his hours. I told him straight out I did NOT want that small basement room to be a 10K room. Too small and he first estimated putting tile down in that room at 3K. He was to replace old sump pump. Last day when paid said it "looked fine". Didnt seal edge of flooring that extends into bilco area that takes on water. The exposed edge of liner under laminate will soak up water and ruin floor. Didnt insulate drain pipe in area he inclosed for freeze prevention as promised. Didnt seal bluesstone. Put bluesone in in front of filthy hearth without cleaning it and now too late since laminate down. He billed 10K for the job. The deck railing is up for less than 6 months, deck hasnt been used yet and it is cracked thru on one railing, split by the gate in 2 places. Califon Lumbar who recommended George Warren said they could do nothing about the warranties for the products. They gave George the warrenty cards and he knows enough to provide them right away. They said they have not seen defective Trek or railings, its always the workmanship that causes the problem and to take it up with contractor. He also never returned my key. I asked that he leave key and invoices in my mailbox and finsh the basement room. No response. Advised him railing cracked already via text as didnt answer cell.. No reponse. He did text me to purchase a 6 mos old $1000 LG front loader washer for $150. Drop Dead.
