Essex Drain & Sewer Cleaning

I cannot speak highly enough of Mike and Essex Drain & Sewer Cleaning. This is the only business I would ever call if I were to have sewer problems in future. I called Mike on a recommendation of someone who was very familiar with sewer issues after a large national sewer firm was unable to find the reason for sewage spewing into my slop sinks/out of my sewer line pipe once it was opened. Because of his skill, expertise and many years of experience Mike was able to ascertain that an obstruction slipped into my sewer line during waterproofing work done for my home's previous owner. Due to a medical issue, I was unable to be home at the time or even to participate actively in arranging the work that needed to be done to remedy the situation. This was no problem, as Mike was able to coordinate with another firm to excavate through my basement floor, remove the blockage, install an access point and re-cement the floor. He kept me informed every step of the way. This kind of professionalism on all fronts from ability to conscientiousness to communication is a rarity in today's world.

Wow, perfect. Called in the AM, Mike was able to come by same day in the afternoon. I was called letting me know he was on the way. He came in and quickly fixed my problem without issue. Would definitely call and use Essex Drain & Sewer Cleaning again and would highly recommend them to my friends!

After having guests this weekend we discovered a clogged and overflowing utility sink in our basement. As new homeowners we were ready to panic, but previous owners had recommended Mike. I called at 7:30am on Monday to leave a message and Mike returned the call within about 30 minutes. I explained the problem and he was at our house by 9am. He was thorough, clean, and able to put me at ease. The work took about 30 minutes and he left everything clean and back in it's place. Would very happily recommend and use again.

refused to clean from residence to street. Driver offered and quot;special dealand quot; but I needed to write a separate check for that deal. Much more expensive than I anticipated. Will not hire again.

Essex Drain and Sewer Cleaning did pretty good. They were very professional.

Every three months for the past year, the main drain pipe would clog and I would call out plumbers to help me clear he pipe. Because it was the drainpipe it needed two sets of plumbers to do the work--one to remove the toilet and the other to snake the pipe, then a plumber would need to install the toilet. Each time it would cost nearly $1,000, plus we were not able to use the shower or use the toilet for days at a time. At the suggestion of another plumber, hey asked to call Mike from Essex Drain.

Mike arrived promptly and examined the problem and saw that there were multiple clean outs along the drainpipe. So he avoided the need to remove he toilet. He attempted to remove the cap on one of the clean outs and it began to leak, so he found another clean out which was easier to drain he water. He proceeded to use a very thick snake--1 1/2and quot; thick. As he was snaking the pipe, he could feel the object that was clogging the drain. He went to the last clean out, the one exiting the house and stuck a snake down to catch the object. He was able to push the object and remove it. As it turns out the object was a toilet plug that apparently had fallen into the drain pipe. It must have been accidentally dropped in from a contractor who was renovating he bathroom.

In the end, mike saved me from the expense of removing he toilet, plus he solved a periodic plumbing problem, and he removed a toilet plug,which was bigger than the exit hole of the clean out. Great job.

This is the second time we have used Essex Drain. Both times, they returned our calls for service quickly and scheduled the service calls timely. Mike is very professional, knowlegable and friendly.

I called left a message on there answering maching on a Sunday night recevied a call Monday morning by 730am. Mike was at my house by 10am. Everything things seems to be working fine I could not be happier. Mike was at the house for approx 2hrs.

Overall, I am very pleased. My anxiety went from high to low. The men knew what they were doing and asked good questions. Be prepared to clean out the water before and after (sucks, I know). We had called two other services, and I definitely use Essex again and recommend them.

I had a utility sink that a plumber clogged with construction debris (Hawthorne Mechanical). I found Essex Drain on Angie's List. I called the number on file and it went to voicemail. Mike returned my call in less than half a hour, much to my surprise. We played phone tag for a couple days, as I was unavailable for his return calls. However, he continued to return my calls promptly until we spoke.
Mike came to my house on a Saturday at the agreed upon time. He was very professional in appearance and workmanship and was pleasant overall. Before he opened up the drain, Mike took care to cover my basement floor to minimize the mess. He was very thorough, and snaked the line twice until it was clear. When he was done, he cleaned up after himself and left the area just as he had found it. He even to care to plug my dryer back in. Although a small thing, it just illustrates the care with which he treated my home.
The price was reasonable; particularly for a Saturday morning and on short notice. If I ever need my drains cleaned again, I'll definitely be calling Essex Drain. Very pleasant experience overall...

Mike, the owner came within 3 hours of calling his office. He is careful to keep things clean, quick to snake the pipe and explains what is happening. Mike also noticed 3 plumbing issues, 2 were potentially dangerous, that I needed a plumber to address right away. These did not have to do with his work but he looked at my plumbing anyway. He also offered and helped me move some furniture in the basement which I really appreciated. He is very professional, efficient, reasonably priced and a gentlemen.

It was excellent. They explained everything, were prompt, and were very knowledgeable.

He is very clean, put a cloth before starting the work and put everything back after he finished.
