Tom's Auto Upholstery/DBA: Creative Auto Interiors

Front seats of my 1999 Ford E350 van were in a bad way for a long time. Had a along drive coming up ( 8+ hours) and wanted new cushions in the front seats. My mechanic (Jonathan D'Avirro of Mahwah Automotive Center in Ramsey NJ please read my review) recommended Tom's Auto Upholstery (now called Creative Auto Interiors same address and phone number as Tom's Auto Upholstery). Also found out that some Police Departments in the area use them as well. So I called them up to get a price and availability. They wouldn't give me a price, needed to see the condition of the existing seats and talk to me about my expectations for the seats. I was a little ticked, a seat is a seat...right? And I didn't live in the next town over, I lived a good 45 minutes away. So I shopped around in a 30 mile radius for another auto upholsterer - there were some but couldn't find any good reviews. The ones who did have good reviews were no longer in business. I also tried like he!! to get new seats, but no luck. So I went up on a Saturday and got an estimate and scheduled an appointment for a Monday (so I could drop the van off the night before). Then I proceeded to pull out all the stops looking for a less expensive fix but nothing, I mean nothing was available. My front and middle row chairs have the female end of the seat belt attached to the seat base. If it wasn't for that seat belt setup, I could have had 4 brand new seats for the price of what the two front re-cushioning were costing me. Anyway, I dropped the van off Sunday night and went to pickup on Monday after work. The seats didn't look that different but when you sat on them, OMG what a difference. I had to readjust the mirrors up, that's how much the cushions made a difference. It had been years since the lumbar support worked, it now worked again and feels terrific. The van was in the same clean, spotless condition as I had dropped it off. In fact the owner commented on what great shape and how clean the van was (if he only new just weeks before...ready my review of Deluxe Auto Polishing, Westwood, NJ). And the bill was less than the original quote amount because the work didn't take as much time as was estimated! Can't beat the great service and would go back in a heartbeat.

Tom's workmanship was top notch. He completed the work very quickly. The price was reasonable. Tom does auto upholstery for a living and it shows in his work. Highly recommend.

The workmanship is excellent. It was a little slow, but well worth the wait! A few years ago, Rodger also replaced a damaged convertible top for me, and the car was good as new again! Most of their business is re-upholstering antique or highly custom (hot rod) cars and high-end boats. Every time I go there they have something amazing in the shop.
