Included as part of the job was a modular controller which controls the operation of the system and a rain sensor. I was given very little explanation of the operation of each. I was given an owners manual for the controller, but was given no explanation of how the rain sensor worked. I had to rely on the explanation of a friend who had installed a similar system.
"I am a 30 year old company that services thousands of customers a year. We try really hard to meet and exceed expectations. No sprinklers company can damage pipes when they winterize a system. Our air compressors blow out all the water in the lines. When pipes break two years running it is usually an old or faulty valve that shuts off water to the sprinkler system itself. If water continuously drips into a line it will break over the winter month no matter if the lines and winterized or not. Sorry for any inconvenience"
