When the quote was presented, my husband and I were informed that the first cleaning would be done for free. (We asked twice because we didn't believe it) - we even asked if we needed to sign a contract in order to receive the free cleaning - we were told NO. We scheduled a cleaning for 11/29/10 for 8:30 am. She showed up at 9:00 am and brought someone with her. They started upstairs, and one of the women left (she actually left and came back a few times, with no explaination {This was a little strange to me especially since both women had their own cars)..... (I have a small 6 room apartment - 3 rooms {including bathrooms} on each floor). She spent about 1.5 hours upstairs - (this made me think that she was doing a great job).... Aound 11 am she came downstairs and started working on my living room, kitchen and 1/2 bath. - She was done by 12pm. I went upstairs to check out her work, my son's crib was not wiped down (there was milk splatter all over the back rails), the chair is my son's room was not wiped down, there were cleaner droplets all over the floor - I used a sponge to clean them up. In my room, my dresser was wiped down but my husbands was not (milk splatter from the baby all over the front of it) - this too I took a rag to and cleaned off. My base boards were not dusted (in either of the bedrooms)..... the pictures down the steps were dusted, but the pictures in the hallway upstairs were not, neither were the pictures downstairs. In my living room, the tops of my coffee tables were cleaned, but the sides were not (can you guess, more milk)... My husband showed the cleaning lady how to wiped down his TV - she used a paper towel and put little scratches in the corners and sides. She dusted one of the two towers that stand on either side of my TV - and she did have a the base boards in my living room. My fridge was not wiped down, nor were my cabinets. I am not even sure if she washed my floor. (I accidently spilled coffee this morning in front of the coffee pot and I wiped that up after she left). When it was time for her to leave, she scheduled another cleaning date, and then asked to be paid. My husband (who was home for lunch) - looked at her and was thought she was kidding. We explained that we thought that the first cleaning was free and we discussed that she did not request a signed contract for that cleaning. She then stated that we misunderstood her and that she had said that we would not be charged more for the initial cleaning, that the charge would be a flat rate. My husband and I asked her a few times, and each time she the first cleaning was free..... - I don't what language block there may have been, but I believe that everyone understands the word FREE..... Needless to say, after she left, I was $75.00 in the whole and spent the next three (3) hours going over what I just paid for. So sadly, (I am not a happy camper and I would not recoomend her to anyone)... BUT if you do choose to use her, please be aware that she has a 2nd person who spends no more than 15 minutes at a time in your house and leaves, but don't worry she does come back - if for nothing, for show.... Good Luck, Dirty in NJ
