Our experience with Joseph was phenomenal right from the start. This was my first time using an accountant to handle my tax returns, and was very cautious about who to choose. I made multiple calls to different accountants in the area, and came across Joseph's information through Angie's List. He was extremely thorough on our initial call and made me feel very comfortable. He made our first time experience easy and effortless. Not only did he help get us a sizable tax return, he is helping us plan for my family's future. I would definitely recommend Joseph Gerbino.

Joe Gerbino is the first accountant I have ever used. I wish I could rate him as A+ on this site, but only As are allowed! Last year, when I moved from New York to New Jersey, started earning money through an independent contracting business, and contemplated the implications of the new tax laws on my situation, I knew that I could no longer rely on TurboTax and had to find an accountant once and for all. Joe and I met in person at his offices in November 2018 to review my situation. Over the course of 90 minutes Joe walked me through all of the issues pertaining to my taxes and gave a great deal of practical advice on how to think about the implications of earning money through my newly formed LLC. When it came time to provide the documentation needed to complete the tax returns, he was very responsive on the telephone and on e-mail to the many questions I had. We ran a scenario of my taxes in late 2018, but the ultimate return filed to the IRS and state tax bureaus ended up being much more favorable. Joe is really personable, honest, effective, and understands the tax laws. I highly recommend his services to anyone!

Joseph was fantastic and helped me so much! I received one of those dreaded IRS Letters that they believed that my previously filed taxes were done incorrectly (I had done them using Turbo Tax) and that I owed additional taxes and a penalty. I called Joseph and he helped me understand what I had done incorrectly and gave me step by step guidance on how to fix it. He was spot on and the IRS accepted my amended return. He explained everything in simple terms and was a joy to work with. I'm definitely going to use him again in the future. Highly recommended!!

Joseph did a fantastic job reviewing our complicated return and took the time to fully explain the process and answer all our questions along the way. Very knowledgeable and easy to work with. We had moved into our new home and the new address was provided to him as well it was noted on all of our personal financial information etc. Nevertheless, he mailed all our paperwork to the wrong address and mail all our important documents without a tracking number so the post office has no way of helping us locate our personal information. Other mail continues to be forwarded to our new address so we are concerned that someone has taken our info. We have asked him to at least cover us each for one of year of life lock and he refused and proceeded to charge us internet for not paying his bill in time. We had every intention of paying for services rendered but we feel that completion of service is when our information is returned to us and that has not occurred. We were expecting some form of reduction as he was negligent in handling our information but he has not compensated us in any way. Not once has he admitted that he screwed up nor given us any form of apology. Needless to say we are NEVER using his services and would advise others to use someone who will have more respect for all their personal data.

"The client's info was mistakenly mailed to the incorrect address. Everything was mailed via First Class mail...just like every other client. - We do not have any control once the mail leaves our office. The PO was notified (claim filed), and are on alert for the tax package. According to them, this may take some time to forward or be returned. The client was notified each step of the way what was happening with email status updates with my apology. The returns were re-mailed with to the correct address immediately. The client has held my fee as hostage for the incorrect mailing of the returns, and suggests payment of "life-lock" protection service as compensation. This is unfortunate that the client sees it this way, as many additional services, planning consultations, and tax calculations & were provided to the client with no additional cost. I will offer them to pay what they think is fair, and write-off the balance. So sorry our 13+ year relationship had to end this way. My sincere apologies for their inconvenience."

Contacted Joe based on Angie's List recommendation. I contacted him over the phone, spent about a half hour describing our situation and he requested all our info. So, I emailed him the requested info and we communicated back and fourth. we finally met and he had our taxes prepared and provide solid recommendations to improve our situation. I'm happy with his service and professionalism. I would recommend him to family and friends.

Great Job every year! Joe has been filing my tax returns for 5 years now and truly takes the pain out of doing your taxes...Every year he is very thorough, reliable, affordable, personable and does an all around great job. I am always confident that Joe has filed the return with the utmost diligence and accuracy. He always knows what to do, and how to approach each situation -- and trust me, I've had some complex returns. My one comment to anyone on the fence about using a professional to file your returns is that it really does pay for itself. The cheaper DIY options are ok if you have the utmost basic return and a couple hours to kill but anything beyond that is best handled by Joe. He's great at finding tax credits and deductions that the normal products won't find. The DIY products are too high level and requires you, the user, to know the nuances, aggregation methods and, at times, the updates in our tax code to do it 100% correctly. I don't know very many DIY people that can confidently say that they filed their taxes 100% correct despite hours of work and research. Joe will provide you with an excellent return that pays for itself, promptly and without any headaches and frustrations for you... What more could you want?!

Everything was perfect! Joe is a great, friendly, honest guy who takes much time to explain everything. He is very organized and pays attention to the details. Our previous tax adviser did some shady things that Joe immediately caught. Joe also caught how we overpaid our 2013 taxes due to the previous guy missing an entire quarter of property taxes that we paid! I am happy to refer people to Joe. When you want your taxes done right by someone who takes the time to review every detail, Joe is your guy!

I had previously contacted Mr. Gerbino several times in the past on advice and tax papers that needed to be filed for my mother's estate. His help was invaluable and very much appreciated. I sought his help again with questions concerning the disbursement and closing of the estate account. He answered my questions thoroughly and did not even charge me for his time! It's very hard to find that type of service nowadays. I would definitely recommend him to family and friends and intend to use his services again should I ever need tax help. Thank you Mr. Gerbino!

Scheduled an appointment with Joe. We met and I gave Joe all of the tax documents that I had. As we went though all of the documents, Joe asked me numerous questions as he prepared a draft of my returns. After approximately one hour, we had completed the draft and we discussed next steps. Joe told me that during the next week he would do another review of my return before finalizing it. In less than a week, Joe called to advise me that my return was complete, but he wanted to meet again to discuss the results. A few days later, we met and Joe explained that I was subject to the alternative minimum tax ("AMT") because of my income. Joe filed my federal and state returns electronically and gave me a hard copy of the returns for my records.
