 + -1 moreNaturally, this was not as straightforward as we had hoped it would be: The toilet information I had was virtually useless since Kohler no longer made the model installed at the hotel. Alan therefore provided me with Internet samples of various options, and advised on the "footprint" and color we would need to match what was already in our bath. He translated specs on water usage, and generally made sense of the product descriptions for me. He also found us a cost-effective seat which has a special slow-drop so that you don't have to worry about it crashing down in the middle of the night. Alan and his assistant installed the toilet in just a few hours one morning, and did such a good job with the grout seal that you would never know that it is not the original equipment built into the master-bath tile floor. I had *no* cleaning up to do after they had finished.
Description of Work: Staying at an upscale hotel last fall, I had seen a "high seat" toilet which I--as an aging woman determined to stay in her own home as long as possible--really liked. I even got the model number from the hotel staff. Since this was all new territory to my husband and me, we knew that we wanted to work with a plumber we really trusted on this job. We therefore turned to Alan Rothman whom we had met when the top-quality contractor we'd used to finish our basement called in Alan as his plumbing sub. Alan had installed a very tricky sink with a sewer-line pump down there, and we'd been very impressed with both his work ethic and his work. In essence, we switched plumbers to work with Alan from then on. I therefore called Alan with my new-toilet information, and he worked closely with me to ensure that we found precisely the best toilet, and the best deal. He then bought it, brought it here and installed it, and took away the old fixture.
