Getting the work started was difficult. I can take some of the responsibility for this because I was hemming and hawwing for a few months, we started the process with RJ Walsh in March, but once we committed to the work in June, it was all about the two contractors, RJ Walsh and the HVAC coordinating their schedules to start. I understand delays occur when two contractors need to coordinate, but when I would contact each of them to get a firm start date, they kept telling me they were waiting on the other for some information before they could start. This went on all summer, until they finally started the last week of August. I'm fairly flexible, but they kept giving excuses that it was the others fault, and that can't possibly be. In any event, once they got started, they were working hard until they were done. I have no complaints about the actual physical work they did.
My problem, and the reason I have given them low ratings, is that the work they did hasn't fixed the problem I originally called them about, which is....my house is cold on one end and warm on the other. I figured this had something to do with the large brick fireplace we have on one end of the house, but RJ Walsh told me that I needed to air-seal my house, and put more insulation in the attic. They told me this would solve most of my problem, but that getting a correctly sized HVAC system would be the final piece. Four months later, and now that cold weather is upon us, my home is NO different than before getting the work completed. I will say this, my gas bill is clearly lower, but that is due to the 96% efficient furnace that replaced the <80% efficient system that I had. I hired this company to fix the uneven heat distribution in my home. Often times the temp is several degrees colder on the one end of the house, which I was told would be fixed with this work.
As of 12/6
I contacted RJ Walsh on Nov 15th and told him I still have the problem, he wrote back to me the same day but I haven't heard from him since. In his response, he was sure to say something about how we discussed that it might totally fix the problem. While I do remember we discussed that, he did say we will notice a difference. Well, I've noticed NO difference, not even a slight improvement in the uneven distribution of warmth in my home. Like I said, it's been since Nov 15th that they told me they would schedule a time to come take a look, I even followed up on Nov 25th after not hearing from them, and now on Dec 6th I've still heard NOTHING. I'm going to give this company one more chance to make this right, and I will update my review when/if they do, but I wanted to post this review with my experience so far so others could make an informed decision about selecting RJ Walsh.
