How do I give 0 Stars? Unprofessional. Scammers. Sloppy work. Sid not follow through with timeline. Did not finish the job. After coming to my house to give a quote, Colt said the project would be $3200. When he sent the confirmation, it was $3400. I was not going to hassle him over $200. The project was supposed to be 3-4 days but was still not completed on day 6. They kept saying, "oh it's humid, the paint won't dry" etc. Meanwhile, rooms weren't even started and they could have worked on other things while paint took its time to dry. They painted over silicone instead of removing it, they didn't sand down the walls properly, paint wasn't even, they skipped entire parts of the house. They kept saying that since they needed more coats of paint and more time to work, they would not charge me because it was out of my control. I went around the house finding things that need fixing and they said, "oh at the end we will do all the details. We have OCD for the details to make sure everything is perfect" On day 6, the day they said they would finally finish, Colt called me at 4pm to go over the bill. As he is talking quickly and not making any eye contact, I see that the bill is now $5500! I said "excuse me, but that is not what we agreed. It is $3400." He said "oh, we did so much more work for you and we had to come so many more days, so it has to be more", I said that is unacceptable because you said I would not be charged extra. Then he said, "ok, $5000, but that's just cost no profit." On day 1, I did change the original bid from 2 bedrooms being a color to all bedrooms and he said thats not a problem, but I have to buy the paint. I begrudgingly agreed to not painting my master closets in exchange to offset any charges. Then on day 6 he tries to say that instead of painting everything white, they couldn't use a sprayer to save time and thats why he's charging me so much more. Meanwhile, he never mentioned a sprayer. The entire downstairs is white, with the exception of black doors, and they did not use a sprayer for any of that. They didnt even finish the downstairs...the easiest part of the house! I was so angry with this extra $2100, I called my boyfriend to come over because I felt like they were trying to take advantage of me and he said to Colt, "no, we aren't paying 2K more for work that is not done and the work that is done, was not done well." Colt signaled his guys to stop working and like ants, they scurried off and left a mess. One guy was taking pictures...of what? sub-par work I suppose. Colt said, "you don't think we did a good job? You're going to have to paint it yourself now!" My bf said "yea, I will paint it myself, I can find everything not done and what was done sloppy and it would be done faster than whatever you guys were doing all week. Trying to charge her an extra 2K without notice or written updates. That's not how contractors or any business works." Colt stayed and lingered, which made me unconformable so I stayed outside while my boyfriend talked to him. He kept going up and down the stairs, and telling his sob story of his life, which made his behavior even more erratic and unsettling to both of us now. He asked to come back the next day to put the outlet covers on and put up a door he promised to make, but I said no I do not want him back in my house. He would have charged us more for the door. As I walked through the house, doors were off hinges, covers missing, work not done, painted over vents and didnt paint over others, so many inconsistencies. The windows weren't done properly, the kitchen was missing paint and caulk, paint cans were left open or covered with a plastic bag. He kept saying they did so much extra work, like power washing and trimming back trees and picking up garbage. All of which I did not ask for. I just wanted my house painted! But, they do it because they are such nice guys. One day, Colt also went into my shed without permission, a huge invasion of privacy! He said the wind blew it open and that's why he was in there. But, he knew what was in it, which means he didn't just close the doors and move on, he went inside and rummaged around. Colt wouldn't leave when asked. He just kept going up and down the stairs while telling my bf his life story again and again. It was over an hour before he stopped moving around. Under duress, we agreed to pay $3300 plus $1300 for the paint since they left a huge mess (-$100). All cash. We shouldn't have paid them at all! We just wanted him out of our house and not come back for any reason. But, as they said to us before the work guys left, we should be so grateful for them because they extended their paint discount to us, saving us lots of money. The job was not done and they left us a headache to deal with and I will have to pay even more money to have the work finished properly. 0/10 would never recommend.
