"This was just now brought to my attention. I can't understand the member not being pleased with his report. When he made the appointment he was told of our charges up front. This is a practice we started after our first month of being in business 35 years ago. I discovered it was more honest to charge as we went then to cover our cost. Then to go out of business because some people made a life practice of going for cheap and not quality. We train our personel in many fields of their trade and yes their is a certification test for sweeps. The Chimney Safety Institude of America offers a 2 1/2 hour exam. We are not a Handy man for hire type company. In this case a sweep was not necessary, so we performed the service of an inspection at the lesser rate also quoted when making the appointment. Our price is based upon real time ,cost and materials. We don't do a cheap repair to just be cheap. Our work stands up to time. You pay for education and peace of mind in knowing the job was done correctly. Should anyone actually wish to see pictures and read our proposal please feel free to contact us. One thing I learned at a seminar was the need to charge for our work. We are a real business with insurance ,workmens comp ,fuel , office and even those answering our phones live do get paid. The thing I was told once is that "what good have I done were I to under-charge to the point of closing my doors" We have a responsibility to our staff and loyal customers to keep doing quality work. We do nothing when not attempting to excell in education, value and betterment of the trade."
