Eagle Fence and Supply Inc.

About us

Eagle Fence and Supply is a family owned and operated business. Our membership in the American Fence Association and The Garden State Chapter, combined with over 40 years of experience gives you the assurance of quality craftsmanship and products you can trust. Our selection of gazebos and sheds is outstanding, as is our selection of durable fencing for every need. We can add function and great looks to your business or home in the form of quality fencing that can provide security, protection, privacy, and distinction. Just give us a call, or better yet, visit our 2 -acre showroom location and see what we mean! We are open year-round, carry an annual inventory, and also offer delivery service. After over 2 decades at his Route 22 location, Joe Bercaw, III, president of Eagle Fence and Supply, Branchburg, feels more strongly than ever that family pride and personal attention make for a happy and prosperous business. Fencing has been in Joe's family for years. His father, Joe, Jr., formerly an Irvington, NJ, K-9 police officer, started a part-time fencing business with a friend from the force just to earn extra income. However, the business became successful and when he and his partner eventually retired, they went into fencing full-time. Today, over 40 years later, that business (B&M Fencing in Irvington) still thrives, but Joe, Jr., now works with his son at eagle fence. Joe, III, originally started Eagle Fence in Warren, where he was living with his parents after finishing up his studies at Syracuse University in 1985. He had learned a great deal over the years from working with his father and decided the fencing business was what made him happiest. He later decided to move the business closer to Hunterdon County because of the county's increasing growth. ''It took me nearly three years to find the perfect place," he recalls. I looked all over." But when he found the current site on Route 22 westbound, he knew it was the perfect location. That was 25 years ago, and since then, the business has continued to expand and thrive. In fact, Eagle has won a local "Best of The Best" award for 12 consecutive years, NJN Reader's Choice Award, and in previous years has been honored by the Neshanic Garden Club for an attractive landscaping of the site. Joe III has continued to upgrade his credentials, too, undergoing training in Waco, Texas, to receive certification by the American Fence Association. In addition to the quality and care with which the business is run, the friendly, homey atmosphere at Eagle is important to its customers. It is obvious that dealing with people is a crucial part of the daily work done there. The fact that family members work together to run things lends warmth to a business which many people expect to be less personalized. They believe in giving back to the Community that supports them.

The fact that this whole process occurred during the Hurricane Irene time period is a testament to this company's excellent communication policies. There were delays on my end due to downed trees and Eagle Fence was very accommodating in scheduling and rescheduling until the trees were cleared. No complaints and would use again!

We used them before five years ago on a small fence at a house we rented with good results. We had them come out to measure and give us an estimate, along with two other companies, both landscape companies. Only Eagle Fence followed up. We checked the price with some friends who'd had fencing similar, and Eagle's price was in a reasonable ballpark. It took some time for the aluminum units to come, but as soon as it did they called and came out to do the install. We had a few hiccups in the process. First, they didn't know what setback we needed to have from the street, which we thought was odd for a company as big and busy as Eagle. We had to hunt that down ourselves. Second, they didn't know that we needed a zoning permit to put a fence in, again something we thought a fence company would know. Third, they'd mis-measured one side of the dog enclosure, but it was a side that included a really steep hill, and they called us as soon as they realized. Last, that hill-it was steeper than the fence units they had ordered could handle, so we had a four day delay waiting for the necessary pieces. We missed our dogs and mentioned it, and they came out and put in temporary plastic snow fence while we waited for the pieces to arrive. That was just plain nice. In terms of the work, the crews were quiet, fast, cleaned up completely, and were very polite whenever they needed to talk with us. I work in services myself-perfect is nearly impossible usually, what really matters is how problems are handled, and Eagle does a great job-straight up, no baloney, and they come with a solution not just a problem.

"FENCE CONTRACTORS, BY LAW, CANNOT OBTAIN A PERMIT FOR FENCING. IT MUST BE DONE BY THE HOMEOWNER."

I contacted Eagle Fence by phone and faxed over a copy of our survey. I also did this for 2 other companies that were on Angie's List. Eagle had the lowest quote and since they were recommended by a colleague, I decided to work with them. Joe, the owner, came to the property to confirm the measurements from the survey, at no extra charge and explained to me what areas of the yard needed to have trees trimmed and brush removed in order facilitate installation. The materials were ordered and a couple of weeks later, the installers came to put up the fence. Before they started work, they walked the property with us again to verify where the fence would be placed. We also had a situation on 1 side of the property where the base of a tree was within our property line but the tree grew outwards and over the neighbor's property. They were able to install the fence and cut out a small section at the point where the tree leaned over. The fence looks great and we are very happy with it!
