Two months after delivery we happen to bump the shed siding with a shovel and noticed the painted surface easily scratched and was a composite material, not solid wood like our old shed. Composite material scratches easily and once exposed to water, swells like a sponge and soon begins to disintegrate. The composite material was painted and formed to look identical to the all wood T111 siding of our original shed. Our new shed looked like wood from inside, but it is covered with a composite outside shell. It was not the same solid wood material construction as our old shed purchased at the same Garden Oaks Specialties. It was instead now a composite siding board like masonite.
Garden Oaks Specialties explained that their new material is called DuraTemp T111. They said Duratemp is better, it is guaranteed for 25 years. They never had any complaints in the two months that they had switched building materials and that all sheds are made of the DuraTemp T111 material now.
We asked Garden Oaks Specialties to replace the shed with all wood T111, the same material as original shed. They did eventually. They charged us for delivery again. They charged us hundreds more for the T111 construction material. We paid the difference and the delivery charge as they asked, out of our savings. The insurance claim had already closed.
Be aware, shed vendors in Fairfield, NJ and in PA still make 5/8" all wood/no composite T111 sheds and sell them hundreds cheaper than we paid for our Duratemp shedat Garden Oaks Specialties. All wood lasts like iron without any attention, repainting or special treatment. All wood shed vendors are listed on the Internet. Don't be misled. There is a lot of information on the Internet explaining the advantages of all wood construction vs composites.
Best of luck
