North Jersey Firewood

Initially I was happy with how things went - I was happy with the responsiveness of the company when I sent an email inquiring about firewood delivery, although a little surprised the contact email was just a gmail account (versus an email with the company name in it), but every email I sent was promptly answered. When the truck showed up for the delivery, the name on the truck was 'Kimball Landscape Associates", and the person's last name who emailed me was Kimball, so I think North Jersey Firewood and Kimball Landscape are one in the same? Once we started stacking the wood, we soon discovered quite a few pieces of wood I would consider 'kindling' sized. Less than 12" long and smaller than 4 " diameter. Best estimate would be that approx 20% of the delivery were these small, short pieces of wood. The overall quality - aka 'seasoning' of the wood - is not very good. Given Sandy from last year (and Irene from the year before), I was expecting close to 100% fully dried and seasoned wood, and only about 50% of the delivery is that. When you see water bubbling out the ends of the firewood when you're burning it, you know it's 'green'. This doesn't happen with every piece of wood, but quite a few pieces smolder and do not burn efficiently, like seasoned wood is supposed to.
