Gentili Painting

Absolutely atrocious. They mixed the colors for two different rooms together and painted with that. The bucket they mixed in had trash in it so they just rolled junk all over our walls. Then he wanted more money to come out and fix it. It was a clown show and entirely unprofessional. We fixed it ourselves and it looks great.

At first, they appeared to be doing a good job covering my hardwood floors, and keeping the work area neat. I tried not to hover as they were working, and when they were done, at first glance, the room looked great. I was happy to have the room lightened up with a fresh coat of paint. I paid them in full, and even tipped them $10, to sort of cover the cost of their lunch (there were 2 of them.... the owner and an employee). After they left, I began to look further, and there was yellow paint ALL OVER my wide baseboard trim. Splatters everywhere! They did not bother to take the time to tape/cover my baseboards, and now I'm left with paint all over them. They even were sloppy enough to paint over part of my smoke detector (who does that?!) and left globs of yellow paint on top of my return vent. So unprofessional. I could have done better myself, all kidding aside. My husband came home, and took one look around, and was very upset. He immediately called the owner, and got his voicemail. He told him that the ceiling and walls looked great, but that there was paint all over my trim from his negligence. That was days ago, and we've yet to hear back from him. I guess he got his money, and that's all that matters to him. Now, I'm stuck with my beautiful wood baseboards splattered with paint! Too bad word of mouth is everything when you're running a business. People who take pride in their work are hard to find anymore. Sad:( I will be warning anyone who will listen to find another painter. I'll be happy to share photos!

Well the original work went ok. After paint dried my mother in law noticed missing spots. Mr. Gentili came back and "touched" up the missing spots, but used a non matching color. My in laws were advised by Mr. Gentili that he would place as many coats as necessary to get the job done correctly.
When we tried to reach him after about 8 or 9 calls and no follow up from him, I sent him an e-mail upon which he finally responded. He stated he had a family emergency and was away. Well in any profession when you are away you either check your voice mail  and get back to the client or leave a voice mail message stating that you are away and will return messages upon return. He did neither.
When we met him at my in laws he denied every statement he made and refused to fix his mistakes. All we were asking was that he fix his errors and finish the job in a professional manner. There are patches on the ceiling that look horrible.
In our opinion Mr. Gentili did not do the work in a professional manner and when errors were made he made no attempt to fix  them without charging an extra fee. When you are in business, your responsibility is to get the job done to the customers satisfaction. If you made an error then that error is on you as a business person and you are responsible to take on the cost of fixing your error. He took a hard line and was not willing to do the right thing and take care of his mistakes at his own cost.
We are very upset that we are forced to write a negative review and if Mr. Gentili would have corrected his mistakes I would not be writing this negative review.
My in laws were prepared to recommend him to other friends and family members and of course will not recommend him to anyone. He had the potential of 4 to 5 additional clients and has lost that opportunity.
My final words to him were "is the price you want to charge us to fix your errors worth the opportunity for future business in the form of referrals to our friends and family, or that your reputation may be harmed in any way". He said no and that was the end of our conversation.
Overall the experience with Gentili Painting was very bad and regret choosing them to conduct the work.
