"Marella Electric was not involved in this job. I am an electrical contractor in southern New Jersey and Washington Crossing PA is not part of my service area. I am sorry that you had a bad experience with another contractor. Could you please look at your information and compare to mine. Marella Electric Berlin, NJ 08009 856-768-2434. Please remove this review and find the correct contractor that you intended it for."
John is very professional and is a polite gentleman...a pleasure to have in your home. He also bought and installed all new smoke alarms and charged us only for the parts. He replaced an outdoor wall outlet that wasn't working and only charged us for the part. He even very willingly hung a heavy, large piece of wall art when I asked him. He is very honest; when I showed him a couple light fixtures that were not working, he showed me what was wrong and made the easy fix. He also was honest and only charged me tax on the one item that required NJ tax. When he was moving the old thermostat to make room on the wall for the TV, the thermostat basically fell apart, probably because it was so old. He replaced it with a new one without charging me.
He checked out my electrical panel in the basement and assured me that it was fine, although another electrician had tried to tell me my house was in danger of having a fire and I needed to pay $3000 to replace the panel (that guy lowered his price to $1800 when I didn't bite, and another electrician tried to tell me he would do the work for $900).
I appreciate excellent work, a fair price, honesty, professionalism, and courteous behavior...and John Marella is all that.
In the weeks that passed before I notified John that I was ready for him to begin the work, I changed the estimate several times. He had no problem with this, and provided me with an adjustment each time. He performed what I assume he considers easy tasks without charging me, and this was indicated on his estimate.
On the day of service, he installed one ceiling fan, replaced a ceiling fan, and attached a light kit and remote to a ceiling fan. He replaced light fixtures in my kitchen and dining room. He supplied a dimmer switch and installed this on my kitchen pendant lights. I found him to be professional but at the same time was truly a nice gentleman. He will be providing me with an estimate of under-the-cabinet lighting and was quite honest in informing that the type of lighting I wanted was pricey. He is providing me with two estimates of the pricier lighting and lighting that he finds to be attractive, yet reasonable.
I would not hesitate to have John come back to perform any electrical service. I believe I have found my electrician!
