We contacted dave to inquire about having our dining room table refinished. He spoke with us on the phone and told us that he would call us back in a few days to make an appointment to come see the table. We never received a return call.

The whole experience went very well. Dave is a very good business man and professional in every way.
Description of Work: i have an old trunk for the 1800's It was my great grandmothers from Ireland. It had been painted . Dave came and picked it up and stripped the paint off and refinished it as it would have looked in Ireland at that time period. It came out beautifully and was very very happy with my heirloom as is meant so much to our family.

Dave was recommended by the shop repairing the clock's works, and boy, was that a good call. The case had some gouges and scratches in it, mising screws, and a broken-through bottom where someone had long ago dropped a heavy weight through it. Dave was busy, but once I reached him he was very polite, very punctual about coming to give an estimate, very straightforward and knowledgeable about what needed to be done and what it would cost. He gave me two costs: one for $375.00 for the basic work, and one for a total of $695.50 if it would need a new top-to=bottom coat of stain to cover the work. I got good vibes from him, so authorized him to do whichever worked. He could have charged the full amount and I would have never been the wiser, but he decided the extra coat was unneeded. He did find interior damage that required an additional $75.00 fix, but I still came out paying more than $200 LESS than I fully expected to pay and he knew I was prepared to pay. After a delay forced by high summer humidity, which is bad for the materials used, he did the work and returned the clock case when he said he would. He said he had gotten really into the job: "When you see something is going to turn out really good, it gets you excited about it," he said. And it was really good. He asked me if he could come back and see what it looks like when the clockworks are finished and reinstalled. You've got to love a guy like that.
