If you decide to use this contractor, I would advise you to proceed with caution, and to be very, very knowledgeable about the contracting service that is being provided at every step of the way. Jim Alburtus is a likeable and charming man, but I wish my daughter had taken a less trusting and much more active role in monitoring the job at all levels. By the time I became proactive and asked for full disclosure, he was over budget by more than 100k, the time line more than one year late, and the job still far from move-in ready. My daighter had to finally let him go and hire another company to complete the job and re-do some very, very costly errors made by Alburtus.
