We have been using Roy and his team at Tarheel for almost a year now for walking services/home visit for our 2 dogs. With one elderly dog and a deaf pup, who occasionally likes to counter surf, the team at Tarheel has taken great care of our pups and the occasional clean-up. They are a friendly, caring, professional staff and can be flexible with changing schedules. We would not trust anyone else with our dogs or home. Thank you Tarheel Team!

We have our dogs groomed there every few weeks and leave them there for extended stays several times a year. Roy Cobb knows and loves all the dogs in his care. He has taken care of my 2 JRTs for over 15 years. He does everything from grooming, walking and boarding for me. I would not trust my babies to anyone else!! He has saved the day on too many occasions to count, Tarheel Kennel is such a huge part of my life and I am very grateful.

My first step to enrolling at the day camp was a short (20 minute) interview for my dog and me to review his immunizations and to see if he would be a congenial addition to their group. I provided the necessary paperwork and both answered and asked
questions while my dog was taken into the kennel area to observe his disposition. The staff was very friendly and reassured me that during his first few visits, they would gradually integrate him into the group to ensure he was comfortable and compatible with other dogs. 
At the beginning, I dropped him off for only 2 and a half hours. By the third visit, he stayed for over 4 hours and couldn't have been more excited to return the next day. Now, with winter weather and dangerous walking conditions due to ice, I take him
about 5 times a week for the half day camp session. It's a toss up as to who is happier, my dog or me. We are two very satisfied customers!
The caring and experienced staff at Tarheel knows every dog; their temperaments and their specific needs. I trust them to supervise my pet as he plays and gets plenty of exercise. It's a wonderful feeling knowing that while I'm out of the house,
he isn't confined to his crate waiting for me to return to stimulate and exercise him. At the kennel, I enjoy seeing the wide
variety of dogs whose owners were as fortunate as I was to have discovered this terrific place. 
There are different sections in the play area. A large one has kids' slides, picnic tables, large balls, and other items that
make it seem like a nursery school setting. Recently, I was so amused when I looked over the fence and saw three dogs
standing side by side on the top of a Little Tikes table peering at me. I wish I had taken a picture. Another section has
a tarp over it to protect the dogs from heavy rain, and there is another one (that I have not seen) that is an indoor puppy
play area for when the weather is really frigid. After the dogs have had enough exercise, they are returned inside to
individual stalls for rest time. My dog usually goes for half day morning sessions, but those that stay the entire day go
back out to play around 1:30 PM.  I like that the dogs are outside in fresh air and believe it's healthier than being
indoors as in some day camps. 
Tarheel is not fancy and doesn't have video cams for owners to observe their pets online, but I feel confident my sweet
guy is in good hands. You can take some treats that the staff gives your dog when he/she is in the individual kennel during
rest time. When I pick my dog up, he is clean, doesn't smell, and I get feedback about his time there. To me, Tarheel is very 
affordable with a cost of $19.26 for the half day session. Without being able to state the exact amount for the full day, I
remember that the fee is also very reasonable.

They are wonderful. My dogs love them! I can count on them and trust them completely. Additionally, they allow me with flexibility that is great to have as a single person. I have called them and they have been able to be at my house within an hour!

He rented me a dog with a great personality, "Russ" a Jack Russell Terrier, which was a pleasure to have for me and my three children. The dog was well trained and Tarheel gave me a full briefing on how to take care of and control the dog along with the food, toys and leash I needed. The dog was a true pleasure to have and gave my family a great education about the true responsibilities of owning a dog.

Each time I have used this service I have been very pleased. My cats are happy and that is most important, but Roy and his other pet sitters are very friendly and helpful, gives me peace of mind when I travel.
