We had around 1900 square feet or floor which had been recently installed by another contractor as a result of Hurricane Sandy. Tom showed up by himself. I asked how he could complete such a large job by himself. He said, doing it himself results in very good quality control. Within 5 hours he had sanded and re-poly'd the floor. Our GC paid him. The next day we looked at the finish and were horrified. The poly was not even. There were brush marks and "waves" that were clear to see in every room. There was less debris in the floor, but the finish was horrific. Our GC agreed and called him. He did not respond to any of the calls nor my E-mail to him. Yes he cashed the check. His non-response is evidence of his lack of professionalism. We have since hired another contractor and the results were great. We had to re-finish the entire floor.
Description of Work: Our initial floor contractor, Michael J. Phillips left our job with an unacceptable amount of "debris" and air holes in the poly finish. Kennedy Flooring was hired after Mr. Kennedy said that he could "do better". His job was to sand out the debris where possible and re-do the poly finish.
