A young man came to my home and gave his opinion. It was done by walking through rooms (a 3BR ranch) and looking at the ceiling opening locations. My intention was to buy them (unless the heating company offered to do so), and to have them installed.
I expected to be charged for their time, and was charged $101.65. (no troubleshooting/no climbing) He did not offer services to purchase or install them; I did not ask. Other professionals offer a discount on a service if a cost is applied to a situation similar to this one.

Another local company called me after they came, and came out the next day at no charge, $0. The install with this other company was $90. I do not know going rates. I have a comparison of charges for an install performed with labor and a free initial visit, that was less than the walk through with this company absent physical labor.

I cannot attest to the quality of their work. This was an unusual request, I presume.
This should not be construed as a review of their work.

The technician was non-responsive to questions, refused to call his supervisor and/or the manufacturer of my equipment, and just left. I will NEVER use this company again, and I will do everything to dissuade anyone who even considers using them.

Our air conditioning stopped working one weekend so after calling a few places on Monday morning, Air Concepts got back to us within the same day and got a technician out within 1-2 days. They said they would be out between 3-5PM (they were accomodating to my work schedule while other places weren't) and while they didn't show up til 5:30PM, I was called prior to confirm someone was still coming and the technician was polite and apologetic about the delay. He got to work and for about a half hour I saw him moving around checking our unit, thermostat etc. My only complaint is that he didn't come back to me with information about what was going on (and get approval before working) so after 40min I went to find him because I was concerned he might be performing work that I wouldn't want to approve. When I found him he told me the work was done, it was a very minor fix that he explained in detail and the cost was only about $150. I knew our AC was very old and might need to be replaced so I was thrilled with the outcome. The quality of his work, honesty and price I all thought was great. They will be on our speed dial if we ever have a problem again.
