BERKELEY POOL & SPA INC

We were stuck when the family member in charge of the pool didn't know what was wrong when the pool was opened for the season. Water quickly turned into a pea-green 'soup' and the filter wasn't working right. He tried replacing the sand, but that didn't help. Other area pool places didn't return our calls, even the one who replaced the liner the year before. It took the guys from Berkeley Pool & Spa about half a minute to realize the plugs from the jets had not been removed. (I don't know if I'm calling the pool parts the correct thing, but you get the idea) They also replaced the sand, along with the part that had been broken when it was first done. There was also a minor leak....quickly taken care of. We had the motor and pump replaced, even though both the pool inspector and Berkeley Pool & Spa agreed there were several good years left in them. Berkeley Pool and Spa 'babysat' my husband and me -- we knew nothing about maintaining a pool. I don't know how many times they had to shock that thing to clear the water, but it was a LOT. We stopped by the store almost daily with questions and concerns (we are older people and it doesn't take much to make us anxious....) They answered many of the same questions over and over with patience, humor, and a real desire to assist us and make us feel comfortable. Every person is knowledgeable,helpful, friendly and professional. We know this because we were in so often we met them ALL. Oh, and after Super Storm Sandy there was a cinder block in the deep end of the pool. The two guys went in, picked it up and carried it out, (the water was cleaner by then) being extremely careful not to damage the new pool liner in the process. They showed us how to operate the filter, empty the skimmer thing, and vacuum (although that's too much for us and we still have them come weekly or bi-weekly for that). W can't express our appreciation adequately.
