Doug Czumble was very responsive to my initial call and throughout the project. Doug and his team were always prompt and followed through all projects in a timely manner. It was nice to have a general contractor as we had many different needs from tiling to plumbing and painting outside with power washing. They didn't charge any more. They were supposed to get back to me with some estimates and they never followed up. The work they did was great.

The project was to replace the vaulted ceiling in the great room of our shore house.  I called the contractor to describe the work needed and we set a time and place to meet.
The owner-contractor, Doug Czrumble, arrived at the appointed time.  We went over a list of what was to be done.  He spent time going over what I needed done and gave his assessment on how he would approach the job.  He plus a crew of two would be able to do the work in 3-4 weeks.  We discussed moving furniture, what we would do and what he would move.  He also described how he would cover/protect certain areas, rugs, etc.  The house would be vacant during the work.  When completed, he would have a professional cleaning service come in. 
 
In two days, I received, by email, a proposal outlining the work, taking into account what was discussed.  We met a few days later to discuss some details, adding a second ceiling and the roof vents. The contract was finalized and a deposit given.
The work started a few days later.  I was kept informed of the progress by text messages.  He answered his phone whenever I called, or returned my call shortly, if I left a message.  He could be reached after hours, if needed.
The project was completed in the estimated time, and well done.  The work area was left spotless.  No issues.  It was a pleasure to have experienced this contractor.

This contractor was professional in every sense of the word.  He gave me written cost, time, and labor estimates, was very punctual, efficient, and precise in his work.  Very detail oriented, which is a pet peeve of mine.  Very neat and expert craftsman down to the smallest detail. He overlooked nothing, and completed on time. He is now on my speed dial!

After having a new vent installed in my bathroom, I needed the ceiling to be repaired. I found this company on Angies List and noticed they also did painting and power washing - two other things I needed done. I called them and the owner answered and arranged to stop by my house later that same day to provide an estimate. He was friendly, courteous, and responsive to what I needed done. He provided a reasonable estimate for doing the ceiling repair, painting the stairwell and upstairs hallway (including the hallway ceiling), and power washing the exterior of the house. We got back to him in a couple days with the color for the stairwell and hallway. They performed the work within two weeks over the course of two consecutive days. He even took the time and effort to hand scrub portions of the siding that had tough mildew stains. The company that did my previous power wash did not do as thorough a job as Czumbles. Highly recommended.

The owner Doug did none of the painting himself. The people that actually did the painting, Mike and another guy did an excellent job considering the undertaking. I never hired a painter but I have no complaints at all with the work that was performed. I am just disappointed in myself for not getting 2 other price quotes. Also if you get a quote from Doug, make sure to discuss things like towel bars, wall lights, mirrors etc. because they cut around everything. If you want to change anything later, you will have to sand the paint lines and touch up with paint. If you do it yourself, it doesn't come perfect, trust me. The only way I would hire him again is if they were the lowest of 3 quotes. Doug is a nice guy and fairly easy to deal with. Very professional work!

Doug is a true professional. From the very start, he responded to our request for an estimate, was punctual, and the work performed was excellent. He did a wonderful job of keeping in touch with us and was always easy to reach. We were not present when the work was done, but we walked into a clean, beautifully painted home. We would highly recommend his services and will definitely have him paint for us again.

Czumbles Painting & Staining in Barnegat, NJ just finished painting our newly purchased home.
This included living room, dining room, study, two bathrooms and two bedrooms. The painting was done by brush and roller. NOT spray.
Doug Czumbles responded to our call for an estimate the next day. He was pleasant, professional, and patient.
I say patient because after the paint was purchased I changed my mind on one of the colors and he was very understanding.
The entire job was completed within one week. They did an excellent job.
The estimate give was the lowest of three and only increased because of changes made by myself.
I would recommend them for any painting job, interior OR exterior.
I just discovered they also do remodeling!!

Excellent company, I highly recommend Czumbles and would gladly have then back again in future.  The quality of their work is excellent.  They took care of some difficult patches with expertise.  Doug and his crew members, Joe and Jay, were very pleasant, professional and worked effectively for the whole day.  Doug was there each day to help organize the work, to check on progress and ensure customer satisfaction.  All in all, they did a great job, have an excellent work ethic and are a great team that produces excellent results.

* From the very beginning in getting the proposal to a return to follow-up on a very minor touch-up, the owner and his workers      were just terrific!
* The price was as good or better than the 5 other contractors we contacted
*  By terrific, I mean that they were always professional, polite, competent and very  neat
 * They lightly sanded , dusted, wet-wiped where needed in their preparation for painting
 * All outlets, lighting fixtures, furniture etc. were removed or covered prior  to painting and carefully replaced afterwards
* They arrived on time (you could set your watch by them), worked harmoniously throughout the day and cleaned and left their equipment neatly at the end of each day
* The owner (Doug) even made suggestions (like an accent wall) that made our living room just looking super

Made patches/filled nail holes in sheet rock where required.
Worked with us on paint types and had useful suggestions.

Quality of all work is extremely good. Very professional. Dealings with owner (Doug) and all crew members was very friendly and positive. At completion of job, I noticed that one window trim was not done. Owner immediately responded and completed.

From the beginning, we knew that we were in good hands! Doug (the owner) came to our home 1 day after we made the initial call for an estimate.  He was very friendly, knowledgeable and wrote up an estimate on the spot.  He made us feel very comfortable and that was something that we had a tough time finding being we met with 5-6 other companies.  He was very knowledgable and he was able to provide us with a tentative date of completion which no other companies were able to do and our biggest fear was having a company that was doing 15 jobs at once and they would complete it when they "had time."  
A week after we had committed to using their company, they sent a color specialist to our home to help assign each room its color.  I had no idea where to begin, so having her was a huge help.  She was very sweet and knowledgable!  
The painting had begun about 5 days after we choose the colors and from the moment the painters entered our home they were nothing but polite and courteous.  The arrived promptly at 8:00 AM every day and did not miss a beat. They were very clean in the sense that everything was tarped and taped, leaving little room for error.  They moved all the big furniture for us and then put it back at the completion of the job. The painters that were sent to our home are a huge asset because ultimately, they are the face of the company. After the painting was completed (6 days time for about 2000 sq feet with cathedral ceilings), we did a final walk through and we were not able to find one flaw.  Everything was so meticulous and we really appreciated that they treated our home like their own.
We also used their electrician to replace 3 lighting fixtures and repair a damaged switch. the electrician was very professional and completed everything with a few hours.
Overall our experience was nothing but positive and I would highly recommend them to any one looking for a good honest business (which is very hard to find these days).  We really liked that it was a small business and they truly cared about the customer and making sure they were happy with the completed services. A+++++ overall!
