SunPower by Sea Bright Solar

The worst decision my family ever made was signing a 20-year contract with Sea Bright Solar. I hope my experience will give some thought to those considering dealing with this company. In 2018, we signed a lease to install solar panels on our roof. The contract stipulated that any issues arising from the installation would be addressed. Slowly, over the years, our roof began to show leakage. I will give credit to Sea Bright Solar for sending a tech out to our home on two occasions in an attempt to patch the roof. It was acknowledged by the tech that the leaks were caused by the misfiring of the nails during installation of the panels. Following the two attempted repairs, when I found signs of continued leakage, I personally spoke with Terry Kreuger at the company who assured me that he would send someone out a third time and address the leakage as well as the damage done to my bedroom ceiling. That conversation turned out to be empty promises as nobody came to my home and further communication from the company has been halted. While this company has mostly positive reviews, it’s important to pay attention to the negative ones. I would advise everyone to research them out. They all share a common issue: they accuse Sea Bright Solar of refusing to address performance or damage issues and for lack of continued communication when they occur. This is a major red flag for anyone considering entering a relationship with a company like this. As I write this review, I am bound by a lease with a company that refuses to acknowledge their negligence in the installation process. I am now facing expensive repairs as my roof continues to leak, causing water damage across my ceiling that the company is unwilling to compensate for. At this juncture, I am compelled to compile detailed repair estimates in order to initiate legal action against Sea Bright Solar. I wouldn’t want anyone to make the same mistake we did by entering into a contract with this company, knowing that any damage caused by them will be the customer’s responsibility.

Had panels installed few years ago. Have been calling for over a month to double the number of panels, have been promised 7 call backs, but received none. Will contact competitors to get the job done.

One feature that was different from other solar panel installation contractors whom I spoke with was that the Sea Bright solar representative, Ty Burns, whom I first met as during my initial contact with Sea bright Solar, came to my home to inspect what spaces I had available for the installation of solar panels. He remained my primary point of contact from the signing of the sales contract, through the design and permitting phases of the project and continued to monitor the installation phase of the solar panels which was supervised very professionally by their Chief of Operations, Terry. It was all one-stop shopping. I always dealt directly with the personnel who were responsible for overseeing that the work was performed correctly. I was always provided with advance notice when to expect their personnel would be onsite to perform work, what the scope of work would be and when it would be completed. Best of all, they completed the scheduled work as promised. The only delays were caused by Borough building inspectors who were not always available in a timely manner. In one instance, the delay was caused because the assigned inspector was on an extended holiday vacation and their was no replacement. There were no unexpected change order charges. They completed the project in full under the signed, sales contract budget. When the power utility, JCP&L, refused to install the new digital meter that was needed for the operation of the solar system, because JCP&L claimed that the wrong service meter panel box (240 V) had been installed on my home. That meter had not been installed by me or Sea Bright solar, but by a licensed electrician under contract to a previous owner. Yet, back when that meter panel box was installed and approved by the borough's electrical inspector, it was JCP&L who allowed the new meter (240 V) to be put in place. Even when the service was 208 V. When it came to installing the new digital meter that was required for the solar generation connection, JCP&L took no responsibility for the existing meter (240 V) and informed me I had to replace the meter box connection for a 208V meter at my cost. Fortunately for me, Sea bright Solar replaced the existing 240V meter and panel box connection with the proper 208 V meter and installed the proper panel box connections for 208 V service. They did it under the agreed upon sales contract. They didn't charge me for an out-of-scope work change order. now, JCP&L will agree to install the new digital meter. Would I use Sea Bright Solar again? Absolutely!!! Would I recommend their services to a friend or an associate? Absolutely!!! I consider myself to be a very satisfied customer of the services that were provided to me by Sea Bright Solar. Currently, I am retired. My professional background is that of a Professional Geologist who has worked mostly in the field of Environmental Consulting for the investigation and remediation cleanup of soils and groundwater at former industrial manufacturing sites and US Superfund Cleanup projects that were located in the USA, as well as other environmental cleanup sites in Canada and Mexico. i also have consulted in my career as an Engineering Geologist on geotechnical foundation design and construction projects located within the USA. Everything went perfect from start to finish. Guys were neat and clean. No damage, very respectful and very professional. Unlike the company that installed my neighbors system.

A professionally managed implementation of all aspects of the installation. Courteous, knowledgeable, efficient and detail oriented. There we no issues or delays.

Sea Bright made the overall experience painless.  Ty Burn - Sales Person was very knowledgeable about the overall process.  He explained clearly all the options and even helped in securing the best option that meets my need.  It took less than 3 months from start to finish.  Installer team was very professional and My solar system is working fine and overall performance is very well. it went extremely well. they have a very professional team and they are always on time and follow through. I shopped them around and found their quality to be superior to other brands and their staff. Specifically Chris Palmer, was nice enough to patiently explain their patented system and what makes the SunPower panels so much better than the competition.

Sea Bright Solar installed our solar system 3 years ago. We chose to go with Sea Bright Solar because of multiple positive referrals from our friends who had also been very satisfied, their good reputation and quality,  and the excellent customer service from the local rep, Chris, that made the process seamless and efficient. We would highly recommend choosing Sea Bright Solar and have been 100% happy with the product, service, and power generated by our solar system.

Sea Bright Solar sales person came out to my home and presented a SunPower solar system. The sales person was very thorough with the presentation. From the time that I signed the contract to install was around 8 or 9 weeks. Sea Bright Solar took care of all of the paperwork with SCE and the connection with them.

The salesman Mike Trapani is a good honest person. He explained everything in detail without any pressure. We will now see how the rest goes from here. 

We had SUNPOWER solar panels installed some years ago by an installer, Geogenix.  We recently realized that some of the panels were not working.  We found that GeoGenix had gone out of business and had referred their customers to Sea Bright, another SUNPOWER distributor.   We contacted Sea Bright and they agreed to evaluate the system, but failed to show up as scheduled more than once.  We have attempted to contact SUNPOWER as any work should be under warranty.  SUNPOWER offshored its customer service and it is awful.  We have not gotten any response to our multiple inquiries and complaints.  I can only conclude that there is no customer support for SUNPOWER customers, and these installers are only interested in the big bucks they get for installation.  It's a pathetic situation for the solar power industry.  They install then disappear.  BEWARE OF SUNPOWER AND ITS DISTRIBUTORS.

Steve from Sea Bright Solar came to give us a quote. Although he arrived late because of weather and traffic, he was good in explaining everything in a professional manner. I have been looking around for best price and quality. I picked sea bright solar due to good reviews on Angie's list. I had chose couple of good contractors as per Angie's list and started getting quotes. After the initial visit I as communicating through emails to all these contractors. Rep was also not happy with the back and forth emails trying to get the best pricing. Only reason why I didn't chose them was because of the pricing. Their best rate was 2cents/kWh above My contractor for the sun power panels x24. Was not even able to match price.

Sea Bright solar was beyond a doubt the best contractor I have ever used. From the first meeting with the sales person to the completion of all paper work. I cannot says enough and would recommend to everyone looking for a solar system.
