I searched for a local concrete company using Google Search. Prestige Construction was the nearest company. Steve gave me a verbal estimate on the same day that I called. He called back very often to confirm the acceptance. A few days later I accepted his estimate and Steve brought a contract for me to sign. I gave him a check for the down payment. He removed the old sidewalk with a subcontracted backhoe and dump truck. Roots were a problem and he removed many of them that were in the way of placing forms. He modified the placement of forms near the water meter at my request. Some of the forms were flexible to follow the curve of the street. The next day the concrete was poured and finished with the help of a second person. He created expansion joints about every 15 feet. He placed Caution Tape around the area. The following day Steve removed the forms and replaced some of the sod in the terrace. I gave him a check for the balance. The finished sidewalk looks good except for some slightly wavy sides where the flexible forms were placed. Steve left trenches where the sod had been removed to place the 2x4 forms.
