My canister vacumn cleaner had a clog in it, so trying to look for it myself, not knowing where the clog was, I took the canister apart and cleaned all the filters, including rinsing the foam filter. I could tell that the clog was not in the canister, but in the hose. I brought the vacumn to "The Vac & Sew Center", which required a $20 deposit. I obliged the deposit and was told I would get a call once they knew something. I received a phone call a few days later and was told they had to take the whole cleaner apart, change all the filters and removed the clog. I believed he referred to it as a "total overhaul". It would cost me a total of $89 minus the $20 deposit. I blew up at the person on the phone who called me and told him what I already had done before I dropped off the cleaner. The clog was in the hose (which is what I thought) and he (accidently) blurted out that he had used a broom handle to dislodge the clog. When I went to pick up my cleaner, the price was lowered and I was charged and additional $12. This was such a obvious attempt to over charge me and gave me a false description of what service they done to the cleaner. And just to follow up, I had a broom at home myself and if that's all it took, (no professional tools needed), I could have done the job myself.
