Since I had to leave work to meet the tech, they were kind enough to give me a call when he left his previous appointment. He actually talked to my roommate, as I had not yet arrived. The tech took one look at the machine and said - we don't those. Said the girl in the office would call me back. She never called.
I called her back a few days later by mistake- still seeking service on this washer. I gave her feedback that I was disappointed by the inconvenience and misinformation they provided. She did even apolgize. Bad customer service, IMO
"It was a one year old front load stack in a closet (we were told it was in a large laundry room)...had we known we would have told you over the phone that we could not help you. We weren't familiar with that unit.. Since it was a new model. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but we didn't even charge for any service call. i would never do that as a business owner. We pride ourselves on being fair and honest! We don't like to string customers along. I hope you were able to get your washer fixed. Thank you Carl"
Love, love, love C&R Appliance. Have used them for a handful of issues in the past couple years involving oven, fridge and dryer and cannot sing their praises enough. If only all companies were this good. I inquired about having my new clothes dryer changed from back vent to side vent. This necessitated me ordering a $103 kit (after tax and delivery charges) from the manufacturer. However, Carl was in the area and stopped by to check the dryer out to see what would be involved once the kit arrived. In the end he determined that the kit was unnecessary and they could get the necessary parts from the local hardware store for $10, saving me close to $100! As always Carl and his protégé (apologies, I'm horrible with names) were professional, courteous, accommodating and did the work on the spot. C&R Appliance is the gold standard with respect to work product and customer service. Colleen and Cindy in the office are also always courteous and call back in a timely manner when I have a question. A+++++
this is my first experience with C & R Appliance Service and I could not be more pleased with their customer service skills and prompt service from my first contact with their service representative Colleen to the same day diagnosis & repair of my leaking Maytag washing machine by Carl (the owner) & Dave . The cause of the leak was diagnosed and repaired with a certified Maytag replacement drain pump in less than half hour. I highly recommend this family owned business.
I'd highly recommend C&R Appliance Service and will definitely use them again if the need arises.
"First of all I got to the house was shown where the washer was located in the house. I am left alone to figure out the problem. So I open the door to find dirty clothes and stinky water in the unit. So I send my helper to the van for the shop vac and then we proceeded to empty the washer of the dirty disgusting water , doing so I clean out the drain pump and find bits and pieces of rotted white aluminum and bits of chewed up plastic. So at this time I close up the pump and attempt to spin the dirty disgusting smelly clothes left for me to work around. At this time the washer is attempting to spin and is banging like crazy. So since I've been doing this profession for 29 years I know exactly what's wrong. It's got a bad outer rear tub and bearing and an outer front tub and and a bad inner basket for the washer. This is a common problem for front load washers. Most of the time this is caused by constant overloading of the washer and fatigue of the rear bearing. So as I explained in my letter, I didn't just show up walk in and open door to the washer and close it and charge the customer fifty dollars. Btw [removed members name] wasn't even at the house while I was there. His wife or daughter was and never stayed to watch or offer to move the mess in the laundry room. I'm very sorry this customer felt the need to leave negative feedback. Especially since every customer on this site has given me great reviews. The last thing I'd like to say is I , as the owner would never cheat a customer of my services. If you call my company you are guaranteed great service by myself."
I called C & R and left a message - I received a call back the same day and arranged for the repairman to come out the following day.
They showed up (which is a big problem in this area, it is a resort town in the middle of the busy summer season) and on time. I was informed that the part had to be ordered and an approximate amount it would cost for the repair. Within a week they returned and fix the problem. The price initially seemed a bit high, but the job required two men, because my machine is staked over my washing machine and is in a small space.
So, I was very satisfied with the entire experience.
