They did a decent job installing my roof, but the problem is they went completely non-responsive afterwards. In my case, they submitted a permit application to my township’s building department, but stopped following up when told some documents were missing, and they never returned my calls/messages when I tried to get them to complete the application. Now I have to wonder if they’d honor the warranty should any repairs become necessary.

Ron is a great guy, in fact you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer guy. His crew works very fast and they do clean up the property when they are done. They do not try to up sell anything, but bring things to your attention if they find something and you can make the call on a course of action. His services cost considerably less than most other companies in the area, yet he provides a much greater service for your investment.

Ron was very attentive to my needs and exuded honesty and integrity from my first conversation.
I obtained 4 estimates, two within 5% +/- of Ron's estimate, one significantly higher and one significant lower.
Ron provided me with all of his insurance insurance policies, including workman's comp for his workers. This was critical for me, as I had an issue in the past that ended up with a lien on my home, due to a worker being injured on a property I owned.
The significantly lower estimate was unwilling or I could not obtain insurance information.
The crew started setting up at 6am by covering all of my many bushes and other items around my home. They completed the job in ONE day, with very little evidence that I had my roof redone by 6pm that evening
My roof was just shy of 2000 SF and had two layers so this was not a small job...

In the initial steps Ron worked with us on pricing and went above and beyond to make the whole experience a pleasant one. He listened to our concerns for some of the particular details of our home and made adjustments on some of the work as necessary.

Ron and his crew did an amazing job. They were at our house at 7 AM and went straight to work. The old roof was stripped off in 1 hour, and they had the new roof complete by 3 PM. The entire experience was great and I highly recommend them. Their prices are very competitive and yet you do not lose out on the quality.
Trying to find a roofer at the end of the season can be tricky - but that wasn't the case with them. Ron was always prompt and responsive to calls. He was accurate with his quote and explained everything very well. They replaced the roof on the day they claimed (I never had to chase them). In addition to replacing the roof they re-leaded the chimney and fixed the roof decking where a tree branch had damaged it.
The roofers were professional and hard working and did a great job cleaning up afterwards. One of the workers even offered to help me carry my moving boxes from the car. That is going the extra step for the customer. If I need to fix or replace a roof - I will be calling McPhail Roofing again.

The crew arrived early and worked efficiently to complete the entire roof,including replacing a skylight, in one and a half days. The work ethic demonstrated by the crew and owner was impressive. I would recommend them 100%

Ron McPhail and his crew did a fantastic job in an amazingly efficient way. Ron scheduled our work within one week of our accepting his bid. The crew arrived at 7:30 am. There were four layers of roofing to be removed. All the shingles on one side of our large barn, formerly part of a farm, were removed by 9:15am. They worked steadily until after 7:30 pm, having installed plywood, sheathing and shingles on one full side of the barn with complete pick up - the place was immaculate before they left. Rain on day two slowed the project slightly, but by the end of day three, the project was complete. Our neighbor who is a retired engineer said about their technique and materials, "They did everything just right." While the cost looks high, for the size of the project and quality and quantity of materials, and including new rake and fascia boards, it was an excellent bid.
Ron has a well thought out business model that works. We unequivocally and enthusiastically recommend him and his crew.

Overall they did an excellent job keeping everything protected, safe and clean. They even did a few extra things I asked for a no extra charge. Overall a great experience working with Ron McPhail. He was quick to respond to the initial phone call for service and he was willing to negotiate a little bit on the price as well. I called the other roofing companies on Angie's List with an A rating and only one other company bothered to call me back and when they did I was not impressed. Ron gave me a price in writing and that was what I paid, no hidden costs or fees after the job was done. Ron and his crew came in a did the work in a day and cleaned up the area around the building as well. Work quality is fantastic and I am very pleased with the overall expericence. Ron McPhail roofing may not be the lowest price, but the price is reasonable and fair. Remember, you get what you pay for and with McPhail roofing you will get a job well done. I would easily recommend him to my friends and I would definitely call him again for any other roofing needs.

Ron was recommended by a friend who is a member of a local business networking organization (BNI NH, Tri-county chapter) three years ago, when we were looking for a roofing contractor. He came over, did a thorough survey of the roof and provided us with an estimate - which was reasonable, compared to later estimates we got. We ended up delaying repairs - mostly because of finances, but decided to go ahead and fix the roof this summer. I dug out the old estimate and called Ron out of the blue. Not only did he remember the job, the house and the condition of the roof, but he stuck by his old estimate. His crew had the roof and the garage stripped, re-sheathed and re-shingled in three days, complete with new roof vents. The house is 120 years old, and the roof is all gables and dormers. When the shingles were off, and we found areas which needed additional repair, Ron did them at cost. He did the same for an old skylight that had rotted away. Three days later, the roof looks perfect, my yard and lawn are cleaner than when the crew first showed up, and I am all set for this winter, and presumably for many more. An unconditional guarantee goes with the job. Dealing with Ron was a treat. He is an unpretentious, straightforward New Hampshire craftsman, and his team is as hard working as any I have seen. I am (almost) sorry that I will not need a new roof for the next 40 years or so. I would certainly give him some repeat business otherwise.
