I made the mistake of trusting that she had my best interest big surprise she did not! Nora showed me a house, she arranged the; appraisal, home inspection, financing. She handled it all ( including me). APPRAISAL ?. Just after I bought the house I realized I had overpaid. A year later I asked her to sell the house. When I asked Nora Roberts ? what if it doesn't appraise for enough? she said ? don't worry I will get the appraiser to bump the value ? just like I did for you?.. I asked what she meant she said ? well the house only appraised for $525000 So I got an appraiser I knew better to get me $575000. That appraiser was Daniel Ruth of RM Appraisal Services. She continued to say ? If I had more time I'd get $600000. So what she was telling me to my face was she ripped me off.. I did my own appraisal and was told that at the time I bought the house it was worth $525000 ( the same amount as the first appraisal) HOME INSPECTION ? Nora Roberts also helped me get a home inspection. The home inspector missed all the important issues that a real home inspector found when I tried to sell the house. FINANCING ? Nora sent me to Rick Picone for the mortgage. I didn't check around because Nora was my friend (or so I thought) so when she sent me to Rick I went. He initially told me that my rate was 5.75. A few days before the closing he called me and said there was a problem, he said my rate was not approved and I would have to pay 6.25% There was not much I could do at that point. A year later my son was looking for a job, I called Rick Picone. My son and I went to speak with him regarding his teaching my son mortgage brokering. During that interview Rick told me how he made ?real money? in mortgage brokering. He said that you get someone approved on a rate and at the last minute you call them with an imaginary problem and get them to agree to a higher rate and that difference is all your extra profit. I broke into a cold sweat and could hardly wait to get home to check my paperwork to see if he had done that to me. When I got home I realized that was, in fact, exactly what he had done to me. He had written my loan at 6.25, the buy rate was 5.75 the exact rate he had told me that I had been initially approved for and he had made a $7000 extra commission for bumping me from what I was approved at to what he said my new rate had to be. I called him regarding this. He defended what he did and said that everybody does it; that is how you make money. LESSON LEARNED ? Don't trust Real Estate Agents ? ESPECIALLY LINDA ROBERTS!!!
