The two young men who did the actual move both seemed friendly and competent. That said, we probably won't use this company again. Our estimate was $650.00-$910.00 for a complete move. We ended up paying $1100 plus possible additional storage fees for some furniture they were unable to move into the house. When we set up the move, I was told I'd need a 28-foot truck, and two men if I got boxes and packed them myself (except for two sets of china which they'd do), or three men if I wanted them to box my items for me. We chose the two-man option, and boxed our items ourselves. The company did not provide the equipment necessary to do the job well, or in a reasonable amount of time. It was a cold day -- somewhere around 5 or 10 degrees -- but that's not unusual for this time of year. The movers were about an hour late -- we finally got anxious and called them to find out what was going on, and were told they had trouble starting the truck. They arrived and actually did an okay job moving our items from our old house to the truck. But when the truck arrived at the new house, they discovered it had a broken side-door. Therefore the movers couldn't park the truck on the flat parking area at the destination, and were forced to park on our very-sloped driveway. Furthermore, they didn't have a chock/wheel-block with them (!), so we had to find some tree logs to jam under the wheels, one of which came shooting out when they parked. Somehow the interior of the truck became coated in ice (?!), which made it obviously difficult for the men to move the boxes around and out. The movers didn't have gloves, so we had to lend them some gardening gloves. As the day progressed, it was clear that the movers didn't have the time or equipment to move the larger items into the house, so we had them put it into storage at their facility, where it hopefully still is. The whole situation seemed impossible and unsafe to me, due to the lack of available working equipment. I want to re-iterate that the men who actually did the moving did an okay job. But the company didn't give them the equipment they needed, and with the icy conditions the company should have either delayed the move, swapped out for working equipment, or assigned an extra man or two to the job. We did call the company to "mildly complain", and asked that given the circumstances, they abide by the original upper estimate ($910), but they refused. We probably won't use this company again for moving.
