The owner gave us the estimate. He was a little grumpy on the phone; better in person when he came to give the estimate. The actual movers were terrific. They carefully wrapped and packed everything. They ooh'd and ahh'd over my treasured antiques, and handled them as if they were their own -- even giving advice on care as they reassembled my dining room table. They made sure every piece was EXACTLY where I wanted it. They worked non-stop with no breaks and no wasted time. The owner agreed to purchase a few pieces that I didn't want. The only surprises we had were: 1. The items he purchased were supposed to be discounted off the moving price. The movers didn't know about it, so we had to pay full price, and then wait for a check. 2. The owner offered to "take care of" some mattresses that I didn't want. I was surprised to find that there was an additional charge for dumping. (The move took a little faster than estimated, so the estimate was lower. Even with the dumping fee, the whole bill was less than estimated.) Overall, they are an A+. We recently moved again, from Litchfield NH to Salem NH. We felt we were too far south to use this Lakes Region company, and used a local company with an A+ rating with Better Business Bureau, and many good references. The second company was good, but Ed's was great. They even called the next day to make sure we had been happy.
