The next day the check engine light came on again so I called them . They told me to bring the car right in so they could check the computer again. I asked if they were going to charge me another $100.00 to hook it up to the computer and they really didn't give me an answer. i said I could not bring the car in until next week because of work. I was told that I had to bring it in immediately or thay couldn't find the problem because the computer error code would reset.
I was angered by this and the fact that I had been treated poorly by their service department previously. I told them I would call them back , which I never did. Througout the summer the light would go off and then come on several times.
By the end of summer the light was on all the time. By now it was imspection time and I took it to another dealer to have the problem checked. The car was there 10 minutes and the problem was found. The gas cap was mot sealing properly. The fuel neck filler was very badly rusted and needed to be replaced. One of the indications of this problem was the missing metal piece in the neck of the fuel filler. The fuel filler neck was replaced in about 1 1/2 hours.
It was obvious that Tilton Auto was not very thorough when the checked the problem.
Even though I have free inspections and oil changes from Tilton Auto because I purchased my vehicle there, I will not be going back there for any type of service.
After ahe finished with that customer, she processed my service order and gave me the total of what I owed. I told her that I had a reward credit that I wanted to use to pay for part of what I owed. She did not know how to apply the credit. She asked the person next to her for help and he told her it would be a minute as he was busy. As we waited,my service person checked out another of her customers. The guy who was going to help her check me out, noticed there were other customers waiting and waited on one of them. He processed their service order and they went to the waiting area. He then proceded to type up their service order on his computer. Then this whole scenerio happened again. After the second time, my service person looked at him again and he held up his hand as a wait sign. More typing on his part. Then the next thing I know he left the desk area. He came back a few minutes later. By this time I had had enough and asked him to please help the young lady waiting on me so I could go. He then snapped at me and said that he had my paperwork right here and he had been waiting on two other customers. He looked up my account and I had $75.00 dollars credit. My girl didn't know how to process it and he explained a process to her so my checkout could be finished. This whole process from start to finish took 45 minutes. The explanation he finally offered took about 1 minute. He apparently could not interupt his typing of customers orders (who were no longer standing there) to help me out. No apology was was offered. I will probably return to the Quick Service for my free oil changes, but will find someone else for other work.
