PETCO - Salem

I have been to another pet groomer and the difference is that their place is really clean. The dogs are calm and the place is not stinky. They do what I want them to do. They even give a little report card at the end as well. They love my dog, because he is such a cuddler. They are friendly and want to give me what I want.

They're really good because she's a wiggler. They handle it all the time.

The grooming was fine. We did not like that the dog was caged before and after grooming.

I brought my 4 month old Morkie into Petco in Salem NH to be shampooed and trimmed. I explained very specifically the type of cut/trimming I wanted. I mentioned that I did not want any electric shears used anywhere on my puppy. I explained that we loved the visor and the fullness in her face so I asked the groomer to please just use scissors to trim up her face area. I asked for her body to be trimmed slightly and her nails cut. The groomer ( a young man) seemed to understand what I was asking for so I felt comfortable and confident that our puppy would be in good hands. I was SHOCKED to say the least when I picked up our puppy. Her entire snout had been shaved with the electric clippers! Gone was the fullness in her face and her visor! I almost didn't recognize my own dog!! They obviously did not listen to what I had asked for. Also, when I arrived at the grooming area, my little puppy scared and shaking inside the cage with the huge hair dryer hose coming out of it even though she was all done. In the meantime, a young girl was just standing there not attending to any of the dogs. Petco does not give the personalized service which the dogs and owners deserve. They didn't even add any of the nice little touches like hair bows or at the least a little bandana. For what they charge, they should! We ended up paying for this hack job and were completely dissatisfied. I think they're too expensive, especially for the work they had to do on my puppy. They didn't even trim her body as I had asked them to do. I would never take my dog back there for grooming nor would I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a groomer. We have since found an excellent groomer who is much kinder and did a superior job for just about half the price. STAY AWAY FROM PETCO GROOMING IN SALEM NH!

They are generally very good. They have always treated my pets very nicely. Their price is excellent. I would use them in the future because they are cheap.
