Once we finalized on the work to be done the job was scheduled. Dave arrived on time and began work. I think the only thing that could be considered at all negative about the entire process was that originally the scheduler hadn't provided enough resources to deal with all the furniture moving and carpet removal scheduled. That was quickly resolved, however. During the second day, the installer noted signs of water damage when the carpets were being removed from one room. The subsequent repair work - done by a separate contractor - caused the original flooring plan to be adjusted. Dave was extremely helpful in adjusting schedules and activities to work around the repair work. We were very pleased with Dave's skills and expertise; the flooring was beautifully and correctly installed. An important note: the transitions between existing tile and carpeting and the new flooring were done meticulously and look flawless!
The staircase was done at the end of the project and again, the work was beautifully done. We wanted to re-use the bannister, but spindles had to be replaced, carpeting ripped out, and the old plywood treads, risers, and skirts removed and replaced with maple and pine woods. Dave did a great job crafting the stairs, which include different width stairs, a 90 degree turn and 4x4 landing. The carpet runner is centered on the stairs to show the hardwood treads and risers on both sides.
The workers were clear on what was needed, everyone was on time and came as scheduled, everyone was respectful of the house and worked to minimize mess and wood dust at every step, and cleaned up at end of day to keep the house as livable as possible. All the workers were polite and pleasant.
