This was an extremely difficult part to get to, remove, and replace, but they were able to do it. Very professional, competent, and friendly owner and assistant. Final bill was actually a bit less than quoted, even though the work required many hours of difficult labor.

I have used EAS since sometime in the 1970's, when I had difficulty finding a rebuilt engine for a 1958 VW (beetle) at a reasonable price. Because they are 120 miles from my residence, I did not use them much in the subsequent decade, until I obtained a VW Dasher (Passat) Diesel in 1980, and found they were the only non-VW-dealer that had the knowhow to service said Diesel. I continued to use dealers occasionally when a lot of VW parts might be needed, but since then I have usually gone to them despite their distance from me, because their prices are reasonable, they are scrupulously honest, and I have never had to go back because something wasn't fixed right. Furthermore, when it is a type of work which they feel unprepared to handle (such as complex auto electric work), they will tell me in advance, by telephone usually, so that I can schedule a dealer appointment instead. I highly recommend them, and I wish I lived closer!

Doug, the owner, is knowledgeable and helpful. He is forthcoming and offers solutions rather than just trying to fix the problem by unnecessarily replacing parts. I bought a pre-owned VW Cabrio that I took to the local VW dealership for a pre-purchase examination. They told me the car needed $1600 worth of work. I then took it to Doug and not only did he perform some of the work at less than half the cost of the VW dealership, he determined that some of the work the dealership stated was necessary was really not. (How many times have we heard THIS story??) Our daughter's Saab needed help and other garages told her that her struts needed to be replaced. Doug determined that it was a broken spring and repaired the car for less than half the cost of replacing the struts. Recently, the glass came loose in my Cabrio and everyone, other than Doug, says I have to replace the roof, PERIOD. (At a cost of $1500). Doug has suggested that we try to fix it first. If that doesn't work (and it probably will because I've been through this before with Cabrios...), THEN I'll consider replacing the roof. I Just plain like Doug's approach!!!
