We installed an above ground pool in September and needed to have some trees taken down so the pool would receive sunlight in the summer months. I had the job quoted from a few local companies and Urban Tree Service has the best price for the work.
The 2 young men that arrived to do the work were very courteous and introduced themselves to my wife and I and we walked the back yard to insure we were both on the same page as to what work was quoted and needed to be completed. I added one additional tree to the scope of work late in the day and they gladly took down the tree for an additional fee without any issues. All of the tree limbs were chipped and the chips were placed in a truck and hauled away. I asked them to leave any wood over 8 inches in diameter so we could use this wood for our fire pit and these limbs were left behind. The larger sections of trees were hauled away.
Someone came to our house about 10 days after the trees were taken down to grind the 2 stumps. The stumps were completely removed and the chips were placed into the holes.
Overall a very good experience. I would definitely recommend Urban Tree Service and use them in the future if we needed any additional trees removed from our property.
First off, let me say that this is a very good company to deal with and whom we have had work done in the past and with excellent results. Not sure what happened this time. The work was scheduled to be performed and completed on 6/27/14. One of the trees proved to be quite a challenge and the work was not completed as indicated, and they would have to return another day to finish. Totally understandable, not a huge problem. However, the manner that our yard was left in after day 1 was unacceptable. Deep ruts were left in the yard where they had dragged large limbs across, garden was trampled by debris that was dragged across it and garden ornaments literally tossed aside and never put back at the end of the day. Large cut-up logs were from this first difficult tree were left and not removed. Second tree and limbs were trimmed on or about 7/1, and we received a bill for the work shortly afterwards. However, work site was never cleaned up as stipulated in the estimate! The logs from the first tree were still NOT removed after they had finished the second tree and trimming of limbs. Several calls/phone messages were left over the next several days asking when the logs were going to be removed. I finally received a phone call from the Sales Mgr on 7/11 who assured me that the logs would be removed Saturday, 7/12. They were not! We told the company that we were NOT going to pay the bill until the logs were removed. Finally, the logs were removed on Friday afternoon, 7/19....THREE WEEKS after the tree was cut down!
Although the work that was done to remove the trees and limbs resulted in a much more open and improved yard, we were very disappointed with the company's lack of follow-up and professionalism. We hope that this one difficult job was just an aberration and not at all indicative of this company's character. We would like to consider using them again in the future, without the issues that we had deal with here.
