HIGGINS WOOD FLOORS

The process of visiting the showroom, asking questions (I had many and all were answered thoroughly), scheduling a member of the Higgins team to visit the house for an estimate and the overall quoting / purchasing of the order went really well and I was impressed with the customer service.
The first two days onsite were dedicated to the actual installation of the floors and the installer (just one person) was really nice and professional (he had clearly been doing this for a while and knew exactly what he was doing).  He answered any questions that came up, cleaned up after himself and communicated his arrival / departure times.  
I cannot help but feel a bit disappointed with the final steps of the finishing.  Previously coordinated days to finish the floors were rescheduled three times, not because of anything at my house rather Higgins was simply behind schedule.  There were literally seven different people who worked on finishing the floors and there was a debate between all of them with how many coats of oil were needed- between 2 and 3.  Now that everything is done, you can see sanding swirl marks in the wood (which was mentioned to one of the finishers who told us to not worry about it), but unfortunately the pros and cons between asking for them to be refinished doesn't feel worth it.  
Overall, I am satisfied and the hardwood is beautiful.

All the people at Higgins were very professional and helpful. They called me ahead of time to make sure I was ready for their arrival, they answered my questions, and they did a great job. I would use them again.

After 2 1/2 years of struggling to keep our European oiled wood floors clean and discoloring we decided to have our floors refinished with a polyurethane finish. Higgins wood Floors did a fantastic job over a 6 day period refinishing the floor and 4 coats an oil-modified waterborne polyurethane. They were right on schedule, well priced & professional. Their dust containment is worth every penny and they cleaned up thoroughly after each day's work.
We are very pleased on how well our floors look and would highly recommend Higgins Wood Floors.

I bought a new house.  I had the hardwood floors done by Higgins.  I've heard they were very good.  2 of my coworkers had used them.  So I hired them.  I had the 4 coat system done.  After 3 coats I noticed there were these kind of "droplets" under the urethane.  I called them and the main person in charge seemed agitated at me and said to show the workers when they came to do the 4th coat.  They said it was normal.  What REALLY aggravated me though is that in one of the bedrooms they had ripped out my folding closet doors and set in the bathroom.  They had broken the track and ripped the knobs off the top.  I had photographed the damage with my iphone and emailed them with the pictures and asked them to come out to fix it.  I didn't get any response.  I called them and they said they would call me back.  They never did.  I called again and spoke with someone (I don't know if I'm suppose to say names).  They said they would send someone out.  They never did.  I called again and they said when they were in my area they would fix it and take care of it.  They never did.  But they did send me a late notice on my remaining bill. I will never hire these people again for anything.  It is unprofessional and wrong to treat your customer like that.

They had to sand down, match the stain and sheen.  They did an excellent job, no mess and MATCHED the stain.  One could not find the the repairs if one tried.

Higgins did a terrific job!  The floor looks beautiful.    And the dust containment/cleanup was superb.

They arrived on time and let us know that snow would  not allow them to show up on one day.

We are very pleased with the job they did and we would use them again if the occasion arose
