It is sad when you pay a professional and get a armature job, whether its autobody repair or home repairs and remodels.
1st attempted repair
Car was picked up by my Girlfriend on a Friday night, it was late and dark. She got the car home, and we pulled it into the garage and the first thing I noticed is that they re-used the original door and wheel edge guard with is secured with double sided tape (Adjuster had written this up to be replaced). Unfortunately, when removed large sections of the tape must have been stuck to the car, when re-applied, it left gaps for debris to collect, and it was not sticking to the car very well, I estimate it would have fallen off in a couple months time.
The paint and finish looked good on the outside, however, once the door was opened, you could see the body filler seam and the paint was rough and dull. To me it appeared they did not spray the clear coat in this area. Upon return to the body shop they claimed it just was not buffed out, possible, but I have sprayed paint for a back yard project and it was no where near that rough, and I am not a body guy, I am a computer geek.
The following day, Saturday, the car, a 2012, would not crank and had to be pushed out of the garage and jumped. I dove it around the block and let it run for a while. It then would start on its own, although it was turning over very slow. My girlfriend drove it to my house Saturday night and we put it in my garage. Sunday morning, it would not start again, this time I put it on a 10amp charger for 8=10 hours. I assume when they where working on the car, the door was open to do the work on the door jam/wheel arch area, the interior light must have been on and drained the battery to a point where it later froze due to the low state of charge and extremely cold temperatures. It has been sufficient to start the car since the charge, but it does not spin the engine as fast as it did before the body work.
2nd attempt at repair.
The car went back for the issues to be corrected. Again paint on the out side looked good, new door and wheel edge guard was used, and the door jam was clear coated.
However, that is where the good news ends, the clear coat in the door jam had runs in it. I find it had to believe this was not seen by the person that applied the paint, the person that and quot;buffed it outand quot; as it was at least smooth and shiny now, or the person that did the post repair inspection to make sure the repair was done right.
The shop offered to attempt to fix it again, we declined, as you come to a point of diminishing returns. Each time its touched, you need to increase size of the area to get it to blend in, and we did not want to risk getting more of the same quality work over a larger area. It is sealed with clear coat, so it should now be protected from the elements.
My rating is probably higher than they should have gotten based on the work, but they where willing to go at it a third time to try and correct the issues, who knows, maybe the third time would have be the charm. We were not willing to take the risk.
Tip for the shop, instead of spending time to have some one armor all the wheels (both visits), use that time to have some one inspect the work before calling the customer to tell them the car is ready to be picked up.

Granite ford replaced my bumper and painted. They were very thorough as they also made sure the underlying braces and supports were also replaced. The paint job came out great.
They also arranged for my rental.
