CLAYTON & SONS CONSTRUCTION

I began contacting Clayton & Sons in the summer of 2020. After my contractor was unable to do my roof. He recommended Brian and Tim without hesitation. When I called them, they both came out, looked over the job and got back to me quickly. The price of building materials was rising and I put the job off til 2021. they came back out, and re -did the quote (NO increase!) I asked for a little more time for building materials to stabilize (price-wise). I spoke to them again in Sept, Clayton and Sons said they'd be out in Oct. Materials were delivered to me during the second week of Oct, and they had 2 crews (8 guys) here the following Monday. They did have two rain days that they couldn't work, but finished the job by coming in on a Saturday! The guys were polite, did not blare loud music all day, and left the jobsite spotless. My wife and daughter are working from home and they said there was no swearing or messing around! There was another roofing contractor who came highly recommended, but I had to wait over a month for a quote, and the quote was 25% higher than Clayton! Professionalism was top rate, the work done was excellent (above and beyond what I asked or expected), responsiveness was within a day or two of me calling, and the price was considerably lower than their competitor! I would recommend them or hire them again in a second!!! Sorry, no pictures right now...

Entire roof replaced June 10,2021. Brian proposed to use Certanteed brand shingles and hurricane nail them down. I agreed with this proposal. Crew showed up on-time, took two days to strip and replace one side of the 2 story steep gable roof. The weather didn't cooperate this project. Between the forecasted rain and oppressive 90+ degree days that causing some delays. Brian caution paid off as the rain did not cause any issues. 2-days to finish the second side. Very happy with the results and roofing crew. They were very diligent, picked up all the debris and hauled it away. Crew were all very respectful and courteous. I would definitely hire Clayton & Sons Construction and recommend them highly to anyone who needs roofing or building services.

These guys are great! They showed up when they said they would and completed the job on time. The crew is very professional, are very careful and they clean up afterwards. They did everything they were supposed to do. I had them install the zinc anti-fouling strips on the top of the roof too. They gave me a very competitive price and honored the price with no surprises. I highly recommend Clayton and Sons.

Excellent, as usual. I have met both crews now (Clayton & Sons did the other half last year) and they're just the finest, most polite bunch of guys you'd ever hope to meet. The people are honestly concerned about quality, customer concerns, and meticulous cleanup. I can't say enough good about them. Clayton even called to my attention a minor issue which was not identified in the original quote. He offered to fix it while he was there. I really appreciated that.

During the estimate process Brian went above and beyond. It was 2 weeks before closing on our new home and the inspection process was ending in 24 hours. Brian was able to rush over immediately, gave us a fair estimate which we were able to negotiate this cost off the buy price of our home. Once we closed and moved into the home we did use Brian’s company to complete the work. His crew was very punctual and they did a great job. Cleaned up the yard great as well. We would highly recommend them.

Brian and his team were amazing! They finished roofing my ranch and garage in two days. The roof looked fantastic and they left my yard spotlessly clean. The price was very reasonable. I would definitely hire them again.

At the beginning of the year my Dad knew he needed to have his roof replaced. A little anxious on who to call, as he had a few offers, we contacted Clayton and sons from another recommendation on a Saturday. Brian got right back to us and arranged a meeting the following day. He surveyed the roof and spoke with my Dad for quite some time. The quote was very reasonable but recommended we should get a couple more quotes to be sure. After giving it a day or so, my Dad felt that wasn't necessary. Brian and his Dad came over that week to meet and go over all the details. Brian's crew started two weeks later. Great team. They were very professional and respected the property at all times. Answering questions and didn't hesitate to let us know if there were any major issues. The roof took two and half days and at the end you could not even tell they were here and the roof looks great. I personally wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to anyone and would certainly use them again should other projects arise in the future.

Everything went just fine. Brian was helpful, polite, responsive. His crew consisting of Tommy, Kyle, and Dylan were great. They had manners, were professional, explained things perfectly, and were thoughtful guys. I was very impressed, and I was very pleased. They showed consideration for the property and were careful to clean up their debris. Great people!

Brian and his crew were fantastic. First, their price was very competitive. They worked in the hottest and most humid days of the summer, and never left early. Really hard workers. The men were very respectful of our property and of us at all times. When the job was completed, they cleaned up all debris and put everything back where it had been. I would highly recommend this company and will hire them again without hesitation.

They responded to my phone call very quickly within an hour. Brian came by the same day to measure for an estimate which he gave me the same day. I couldn't be happier with the whole process. Roofers arrived promptly in the morning. Roof was finished and grounds cleaned up before 5 pm. I'm very happy with their work.

The contractor was always late arriving between 9:30 and 10 am and leaving by 3:30 pm. The sheetrock installation went OK, but there was dust all over the house because they removed the protective barrier left by ServePro. They painted over several of the plumbing pipes. I also asked Clay to hang three new doors for me and to install baseboards in my hallway. All three of the doors were hung backwards. The light fixture was hung upside down and too low - I asked Clay twice to raise the mirror, the light fixture and the electrical outlet, which were hung way too low even though I had given him the proper measurements. The light fixture was hung over the top edge of the mirror so that it couldn't be easily moved. The tile guy didn't finish cleaning the tile and didn't do any grouting. I did the cleaning and sealing myself. I ended up hiring someone else to relocate the light fixture and electric outlet and he also relocated the mirror to a proper height. He didn't install the vanity and the baseboard that goes behind the toilet was cut to long. I called him again to fix the baseboard, rehang one of the doors and to patch the holes left by moving items that were initially hung too low. This work was not completed, even after promising to do the work. I did some of the grouting myself and discovered that the baseboard behind the toilet was never nailed in place. I have called Clay repeatedly to fix these problems and he has promised to do so, but so far, hasn't fulfilled his commitment. I was very disappointed with the quality of the finish work and the lack of concern for fixing the issues.

Brian was very responsive and provided a quote within a couple of days of my phone call. I received quotes from 3 roofing firms. Clayton and Sons was the lowest of the 3 bids. i had worked with Clayton and Sons in the past, so had some basis for their quality of work. They began the project as scheduled and finished the same day. The work was professional and they cleaned up the work site satisfactorily.Brian and his crew were all polite and responsive to my questions and concerns. My only issue was the following. I was very specific in the brand name and color for the shingles so as to match the other side of the garage roof that was replaced 3 years ago.The shingles they brought to the site were a different brand and color. I discovered this before they began to install the shingles. Brian told me that the brand that I had specified was unavailable and he tried to match the color as close as possible. He was willing to bring them back if I was not satisfied. The existing roof was already removed by the time this came to light. Luckily the color match was close enough to allow them to proceed. I was somewhat disappointed that Brian did not discuss the change in the type of shingles with me before he showed up on the site with something other than I had specified. This is the only reason for my grade of a B in professionalism.
